Which one is the real AGD? Grin

My guess is Sgt SMiLE thought that the only way to be taken seriously is to transform himself into an AGD clone...

I take Andrew's fern more seriously...

All hail the fern!

Has anyone else noticed that Sgt. SMiLE's post count will reach 666 when the announcement of the SMiLE Set release date is made?

Also, has anyone ever seen The Sarge and Phil together at the same time??

If The Beach Boys and Capitol don't want to sell us the "Smile" recordings...

Source for this statement, please ?

You don't know what's happening at the tower.

But you claim that you Do know, and won't tell the fans. Unless you've signed a confidentiality contract, what could The Beach Boys and Capitol do if you revealed some information?
Cut off your access to information about future vault projects? Perhaps. But, besides "Smile", and two and a half hours of 1970's outtakes, the Beach Boys don't have much more studio material in the vaults, and certainly nothing with the commercial potential of "Smile". "Smile"(if released) will likely be the last hurrah of Beach Boys vault projects. As for those 1970's vault tracks, most have no Brian Wilson participation, and(ironically) it's Mike Love who has in the past opposed their release.
This box set(if released) is basically the end of the road. Capitol & The Beach Boys might cut off your access to information about future projects, but the odds that there will be future projects, is unlikely.

There is another lost Beach Boys album of less renown, "adult child" that could be remastered and released for the first time with other outtakes from that era.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

But what if he's actually FRIENDLY with his sources in the BBs camp? What if he's actually, honest-to-Brian FRIENDS with him/her/them? What if he doesn't want to betray the confidence of a person who COULD get punished for leaking info, just to shut you up? I refuse to believe that you don't see the absurdity of your request...

So...let's take stock here. Due to the lack of an alleged "confidentiality contract", Andrew is therefore legally absolved of any wrongdoing for speaking too much.

You are the Mozart of morons, the Nostradamus of numbskulls, the Socrates of simpletons, and the Freud of f*ckwits. It's called keeping your mouth shut. Andrew has done precisely that, and that's why he's privileged to know a few juicy facts. BIG deal. It has nothing to do with contracts; if someone offers private information that he or she wishes to be kept in confidence, then it's the honorable thing to do. Again, we are quite aware that you lack the capacity for shame and completely disregard any idea of honor for anyone else except for yourself. Do you even possess any regard for other people and their own lives?

Christ, people like you do NOT deserve this music. I'd much rather see the friggin' thing left unreleased than wasted on catfish in the fan base like you.

But, besides "Smile", and two and a half hours of 1970's outtakes, the Beach Boys don't have much more studio material in the vaults, and certainly nothing with the commercial potential of "Smile". Again, you just further devalue your opinions as well as alleged "knowledge". I can only surmise that by you posting increasingly more ridiculous tripe day after bleeding day that you must be a masochist. I mean, come on dude. None of your ideas have any basis in reality! You are clearly the dreamer in this equation.

I didn't want to come out with this as I hate to be the one labeling people as such, but cat's out of the bag.

You're a troll.

You serve no other purpose on this forum other than to stir the pot. And it is just oh, so unfriggin'believably ironic that you of all people come out and say the discussion is "insipid" and "a spent force". This discussion had merit until you sh*t all over it. The only reason this thread has taken such a nasty, negative turn is because of you and your conspiracy theories. Period. End of conversation.

I am sorry to all of the other members here who have had more constructive criticisms to level in this thread, but I feel that this discussion as it stands now is only creating more negative feelings among the membership here than there already are. In the best interests of the membership here, it is now locked. I'm sorry it had to end this way, but some people need to grow up.

EDIT - Lock lifted.

I think we're waiting for an official word from Capitol, in regards to a release date and track listing.

I'm honestly looking forward to the Disney album more now. Smile is old news to me now, it's hard to hear it with fresh ears all the time. I want to hear it like Paul Mccartney would have heard it on release day, stoned out of his mind and tripping on LSD. Like he probably was with Bruce hearing Pet Sounds all night long.

I'd love to find out that since 1967 Mike has been secretly writing like Dennis did learning from Brian but in secrecy and he has a very good album for us all. Wouldn't that be cool? For us all to think - wow, Mike Love really is great, those potheads weren't just being weird.
