This whole discussion is becoming a spent force. It's insipid.
That's one of the few things that Phil's said that makes sense!
In my experience, when someone who's been a major, ah, 'contributor' to a thread starts saying it's boring, a spent force, it's usually accompanied by the sound of furious back-peddling.
Or perhaps it's the dawning realization that he helped MAKE the thread insipid, and a spent force.
I don't happen to agree, fwiw. Yes, things have taken a turn for the silly, but that's better than witnessing the cannibalization that was going on before that. What are we supposed to do while we wait for news? A little thumb-twiddling is harmless.
The thread has become something like the foyer of the RFH - some great banter, maybe not entirely on topic but lots of voices united in anticipation of something great. An a couple of other people.
Lovin' it!

That was said with complete self-awareness, because previously when Andrew had said something like "Don't think we're that important here" he added something like "it's a mistake I'm familiar with."

All roads lead to Kokomo. Exhaustive research in time travel has conclusively proven that there is no alternate universe WITHOUT Kokomo. It would've happened regardless.

If The Beach Boys and Capitol don't want to sell us the "Smile" recordings, there will be no shortage of quality pop & rock box sets to spend our money on this year. For example:
The Who-Quadrophenia(4-CD + DVD + book box.The DVD is surround mixes)
Pink Floyd-The Dark Side of The Moon(6-disc CD/DVD/Blu-Ray box)
Pink Floyd-Wish You Were Here(5-disc CD/DVD/Blu-Ray box)
Jimi Hendrix-4-CD box of 1968 Winterland concerts
Dusty Springfield-4-CD + 3-DVD box
Jethro Tull-Aqualung(2-CD + DVD + Blu-Ray + vinyl box)
...and possibly more Paul McCartney hardcover book CD/DVD sets.
If The Beach Boys' music won't rock us, then someone else's music will.

So today somebody dropped a piano on me, and when I awoke, I realized that the secret to Smile is hidden within its numbers. Just add them all up, and you'll see the big problem to the solution (the solution is Let It Be). Tell you what. Why don't you run along and listen to some of the other music you like. I promise that once there's a release date, I'll pm you. That way, you don't have to waste your time coming here--instead you can "rock" with others--and we don't need to waste our time insulting you.
How's that for a win-win?

Source for this statement, please ?
And Phil, it's getting very, very old, worn and boring (not to mention being so far off track it's laughable). Insipid, even. Again: you have no idea what you're talking about. You don't know what's happening at the tower. All you're doing is making a bigger and bigger fool of yourself... oh, and causing hilarity further up the food chain. See that thing running towards the horizon with its ass on fire ? Your credibility.
On a more serious note, You should see someone about this problem you have.

Phil, I am a big fan of Morrissey, I can listen to the man drone on endlessly about how life is a puddle of dishwater for hours on end. Yet your ceaseless whining is driving me round the bend. Kindly retreat back into your corner with your lapdog Sgt. Smile - that way you can both enjoy each others doomsaying while the rest of us get on with life.
And back to lurking round the forum I go.

Hey Phil, when the boxset DOES come out I think it's only fair that you send each and every member on the board a grovelling PM admitting how wrong you are and how little you know about anything Beach Boy related.
