Yeah, you've got to remember that there are different subcultures of BB fans. Jon Stebbins' book covers this nicely. Hopefully some Kokomo/Stamos fans will get a kick out of this stuff too.

Oh, that makes one less competitor for a front row seat at the RFH opening night of JSRS, then. Lucky me.

Take a friend, Don; my usual seat will also be vacant as that's the night I wash my hair.

"Seppos"??

"Seppo" = "Septic tank" = "Yank". Rhyming slang, you see.

Already ordered my tickets after watching "John Stamos reimagines Pacific Ocean Blue" and "John Stamos reimagines Country Love" live shows with guest appearances by the full house cast and Mike & Bruce.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

LOL ...one day, Stamos will get the full recognition he so abundantly deserves. Until then, we are a few prophets not honoured in our own countries.

Can't wait to hear him tackle 'Cabinessence'. That alone is so much more interesting than that whole Smile Sessions package - it's way overrated, I tells ya.

I heard Stamos had destroyed the tapes, believing the public just isn't ready for the music yet. Maybe in another 45 years…

Simple. FEAR. Unadulterated fear amongst all the lucky bleeders that got to hear this early that Capitol's lawyers would steal their houses if they leaked this sucker...

As the entire review stream was apparently watermarked and personally traceable, any one who leaked the set might as well have thrown away all of their possessions and run into the sea naked. Even then, the lawyers would probably have gone after them with waterproof paper writs and bathyscapes. Legally speaking, there's a clear case to be made for loss of earnings as a result of the leakee's action, see. The lawyers could probably take anyone who did it for *hundreds of thousands* of dollars.

Maybe some reviewers will decide to throw caution to the wind as the official release date gets really near, but I think if I was sitting on a review stream, I would stay sitting on it permanently - and I expect all the reviewers feel the same.

I expect this will be the way review copies are made available all the time in the future. And if you get something early and leak it, gawd 'elp you, 'cos they'll come for you. Corporate Legal America at its most hideous... who wants to open the can on THAT?

Legit, non-watermarked copies have to be out there by now. Was more referring to that.

Still, I nominate Brian to be the next Billy Mays  Smiley

LOVED that video. How great is it to be Brian to finally see Smile in physical form?
Very cool.

BTW. I am a journalist with a stream to the Sessions but it's heavily watermarked and password protected.
That's why there's no leak and I'm happy about that.
It's going to be amazing so why not just spend the money?
I hate to say it but the more copies this thing sells potentially = more obscure Beach Boys releases etc.

For those who would rather read interviews, than listen to them - here's a link to a transcript of part one of Mark Linett's interview with Icon Fetch about the upcoming SMiLE Sessions.

http://bit.ly/ns3Mok

FYI, I'll be posting my talk with co-producer Alan Boyd at the first of the week.  I've also interviewed author Jon Stebbins, who wrote "The Beach Boys FAQ" and will post that one soon.

Enjoy.
