  I don't even see how people can argue that BWPS isn't the finished SMiLE;

Said as much in 04 myself. Tidal way of opinion heading your way Ron! Shocked

I think, and i hope i speak for all those PEOPLE, what they mean is BWPS -as good as it is ,could never measure up to a completely finished 1967 SMilE complete with BBs all at their peak vocally.

I made my comments in 04 something along the line that Brian and his handlers, plus the label all sold BWPS through the media as a now finished abum. Something like  "the SMiLE album was never completed in 67, this is the completed SMILE album with his new band".

Looks rather fake to me.....

Find it hard to believe an actual art mockup from Capitol would leak on the internet.

I guess people have a lot of time on their hands to commit such fakery due to the drought in official tidbits.

We shall see

They're based on period tape boxes/reels - one from Sunset, one from Gold Star, one from another I can't id from that pic.  And one Capitol release, one Brother Records.

Note also that there're 5 discs here not 4 as previously mentioned, which gives credence to the SpinCD ads in Mojo which also mention a DVD. Wonder what's on that?HuhHuh

Plus, gatefold sleeves for the vinyl LPs, a Vega-Tables (not Vegetables) pic sleeve 45rpm…  and the Frank Holmes pic on the box looks almost 3D somehow (though I don't think it is… must be the angle).

Fake or no (and I don't think it is) I'm IMPRESSED.

DROOOOOOL…

Course, it could be EarCandy…!  :D

Legit. Note the CD 'labels' -  Capitol LP, Brother, Western, Gold Star and Sunset Sound... which indicates to me 5CDs, no DVD. Also check out the 45 sleeves - "H&V" and "Vegetables".

If you look closely at the shop it is a cutaway with a bit of depth to it, which concurs with some whisperings from back in July. I think you would have to de a rather sad, Photoshop happy trickster to go to such lengths to stir things up.

Where do we form a que to pillory this Cohen person?

On the one hand, Brian may have destroyed tapes. I don't know. If he did destroy tapes I have a feeling he would mean masters and not work tapes.

On the other hand, maybe it is still BS and they found a whole stack of masters. Hoohay!

On the third hand, you all can think what you want about BWPS v. SMiLE and I'll think what I want and we'll still skip through life hand in hand.
