You know...I was thinking that it's just about time for Brian to make his annual "I haven't written a song in ____ years, but I'm suddenly writing again" comment...

I find he tends to do that only when he's, you know, actually writing.

In a perfect world the first we would have heard about TSS would be late this year. ie Labor Day. Followed by a release 2 months later. ie Nov 1

Everyone would have been happy! Right?

Then Al was interviewed. Thud

Not quite - I said if I was at the tower and looking at a late October/early November release, Labor Day would seem logical for an announcement.  Smiley

Ya know,

When the SMiLE Sessions box set finally does arrive, I expect my mind and ears to be fully and completely blown away.

The Man is a freakin' musical genius; what more can you say?

Nothing, it's going to be remarkable

I'm in a mood now where I feel really glad everyone involved is taking their time.

I just want to hear that fragment of the Wahalalulei part of Worms with the slide guitar sounding all creepy. I lost it in my collection of dubious mp3s and miss it dearly.

Actually, it's been almost 45 years since the album was supposed to come out...and I've been consciously waiting for about 35 of those years!

I don't know much about assembling boxsets, I'm sure it takes a lot of hardwork, but I don't subscribe to this idea that just infinite time equals an infinitely good boxset. In the time Mark and Alan have been working on this the people of Libya fought and won a civil war....earthquakes destroyed Japan, the space shuttle completed it's final mission, democrats and republicans reached a debt agreement, Duke Nukem Forever was released. I hope that Mark and Alan are done with their share of the work by now.

Yeah, I hear Duke sucks, I didn't try it out yet, but the telegraph tells me so. Oh, let's also hope that the Smile Sessions are better than Chinese Democracy Wink
