SMiLE Sessions box set!

As far as I'm aware, they were overdubbed onto the master of Mrs. O'Leary's Cow (the session is on SOT 17). Anyone with the multitracks could isolate the overdub. No different than the backing track/a cappella mixes in theory.

Fire crackling sounds are to be a hidden bonus track on one of the 5CD discs. Was this recorded separately and over-dubbed onto a take?

I'm no expert so someone else can chime in with the info. I assume that Brian did a mix that overlaid the Fire Sounds. I always preferred Fire without the sound effects anyway so won't be losing sleep if it isn't on there.

Is there anything unrepresented that we know if now, aside from some of the Psychedelic Sounds skits (which I would've dubbed Psychedelicate Sounds in my collection, if I had such things in my collection…)

So far I've seen no mention of Brian's smog speech (which, I'm proud to say, my wife actually yelled for during Brian's concert in St. Charles this summer).

Think the only biggie not on here (even though it's not SMiLE) is "Hawaiian Song" which was done like a month after. Would've looked nice next to Cool Cool Water.

Unless one of the two Cool Cool Water's IS Hawaiian Song.

I think the Brian vintage edit of Child that was to appear on Hawthorne, is not present. I've also seen it discussed that the vintage edit of Fire with crackling sounds is seemingly not present. Not griping personally, but as I understand it there are a few omissions that will give people something to moan about come Nov 1st!

It seems very strange that the Child vintage mix isn't going to make the cut - wonder why? Would also like to know which material was veto'd by Brian?

One thing Spotify does is synchronize with the Music folder on your hard-drive and find the track listed if you have it.  So for me it's grabbed about a third of the tracks on disc one grabbed from rips and fanmixes I have lying around.

Ha ha! Almost had a heart attack when I opened it in Spotify as a few of the tracks were playable and Surf's Up wasn't the 71 album version!! Then I realised it had accessed the Anne Wallace mix (that I obviously don't have on my hard drive.)

Yes also realising the sad truth that, if my box set doesn't arrive on release day, and if Spotify ups the tracks on the 31st/Nov 1st, I'll most likely be listening for the first time via Spotfiy.
