Looks cool ; makes me wish I was a real collector and not just a regular fan. I won't have the money for this thing at all. It's hard to save up $200 when daily what little there is goes to other things. On release date I'm just going to meditate and get into a very remote sensing sort of state and materialize in Andrew G Doe's secret Beach Boys shrine room so I can enjoy the box set with him. Invited myself over, of course.

Very interesting. The picture looks more real than it does fake, it's a little too detailed to be fake. I won't totally discount it being fake though, I hope its not, but hopefully we'll get a confirmation soon enough.

I like how with this nice little tidbit still the only thing people can manage to talk about is phil cohen, I'm sure the guy is just as happy as everyone else for this picture.  I feel like all the jergins in the world won't be enough for this thread sometimes, I swear.

Are you jealous they aren't talking about you?

Am getting annoying visions of that box casually sitting on my bookshelf, looking cool. Come on, Capitol! Let's get us a boxset in time for my student loan!  Grin

More good news!  I finally got an answer today from the publicist for the Box set.  Perhaps they are getting ready for some sort of press release?  w00t!

Hey AGD how on earth do you find the stamina to feed both this and the SHF threads simultaneously?  I'd like the address of your Chemist Smokin

what did they do for the heroes b-side? is it just going to be sections? or did they actually come up with the 6/10/whatever minute version of the song?

"Vege-Tables" / "Surf's Up"

Wow, that's strange. I wonder if Brian thought of that as a single back in the day.

Part 1/part 2, is my guess. What part 2 is, we'll see.

No way is it going to be those disjointed sections on the 93 box. They've probably spliced some of it together nicely if they haven't any old mixes.

Good spot - H&V Part 2 - So a Part Two did/does exist in real life

This sounds as though there is going to be a lot of people reappraising theories - me included

Hey, 2004 was pretty exciting, too, but this might just top it.

Like many of you, I've probably checked in here every day (literally) since March.  It's been a long 5 months since we've had any blockbuster-level news, but this photo counts.

Remember Ghost, there is supposed to be a 2 CD version.  Maybe that will suffice until Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanza....?

By the way, this box set picture doesn't count as news from Capitol so if we hit 200 pages before that we still win..

Hold on there, folks. David Beard did not say he knew for sure what that single contained. His words:

"The set (appears to) include:"

It's his guess.

That being said, it's a possibility. But I can't imagine "Part two" would be significantly different than section-splicing that we've heard before.

Everyone is (understandably) rushing to conclusions, but nearly all of this is speculation right now.

David can speak for himself, of course, but, no, I seriously doubt that he's simply "guessing" the b-sides.   He must have sources.

The "appears to" bit probably just refers to some of the things we weren't expecting (e.g., the poster, the booklet reproduction, etc.).

This might sound a bit stupid but regarding the poster, wonder if it will be packaged inside the box. How would it be it inserted without bending etc

The poster will probably have to be folded, I guess.  Hope that there's a way to buy an unfolded copy of the poster, though.  A crease-less version would be suitable for framing.

Exactly.

I plan on framing it and the slightest bit of damage will bother the hell out of me..

Imagine having to contact amazon or your record shop and being put through the process of returning the box etc.

What a nightmare
