And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

I watched the Al Jardine video. A catchy tune, and his voice is still great. So he's still into Transcendental Meditation and all that guru-vy stuff, huh?

I'm betting on September if it's an October 4th release and October if it's a November 1st release
Nah, the release will be formally announced more than one month in advance. If November 1 is the release date, they'll announce it well before October 1.
I will be surprised, though, if we hear anything official before Labor Day (September 5).

Actually, even in the 1960's, Al was the one Beach Boys that wouldn't get high.

LOL - where are you getting your facts, Phillip? Al Jardine was the one who got Brian into pot in the first place. He called it 'Vegetables' always with a smile similar to the picture capture that I posted. When Brian got into LSD Al was reluctant at first to cheat on Mary Jane but when he did he found his true spirit as

In the bootleged rough edit of "The Beatles-Anthology" video program, George Harrison gives the name of the dentist who supplied the LSD to The Beatles. I can assure you that it wasn't Al Jardine. And as for Jardine not getting high in the 1960's, that is what he has claimed.

Drug users code of honor- never name names. George was protecting Al by giving out false info. Come on Phil, put your thinking cap on.

Actually by his own admission he did smoke a few times in the mid 60s, but quit as it wasn't really his bag. I think you're thinking of Bruce.

I can imagine Al Jardine, inexplicably in full dentist smock, dispensing LSD into The Beatles tea with impish abandon. This thought alone has made my day

It was when describing a "Smile" session where the group members were crawling on the floor grunting like pigs(obviously, the "Swedish Frog" recording, which many consider to be a part of "Heroes & Villains,Part 2") that Jardine refered to himself not getting high. Perhaps, he meant, at that time, or at that specific session that he didn't get high.

All due respect to Al, this looks more like a screenshot from a TV Shopping Channel rather than anything to do with a religious group.

Specific session. He only smoked
very
intermittently for about a year, if that. Despite what he may say now, from what I've been told it was actually
Mike
who was the second biggest (marijuana) smoker in the group until around 1970-ish. Hard to imagine now, but then again this is Mike we're talking about. Same guy who smoked tobacco from a pipe yet got very irritated if a cigarette was nearby.

Has Capitol released 'Fire' as a promo for the TSS? It seems that someone on the BW board heard it on the radio.

According to the on-line playlist, he played Cool Cool Water from Sunflower. Mind, every track listed is available on iTunes and Amazon, so maybe they only list commercially available airplay tunes. Or maybe he played a bootleg and they daren't list it…

Good catch. Perhaps the listener mistook the BWPS version for the original? Not sure how that's possible considering the 1966 track's lack of vocals (at least on every version that I've heard), but maybe he was unaware of that crucial difference.

I'll bet he bogarted dem joints as well
And furthermore.....
I'll bet he broke every goshdarn unspoken smoking rule there is.
He besmirches the name dopesmoker.
I'm furious.
I'll never touch the stuff again.
Mike Love smoked dope.
And loved SMiLE.
