I would bet that deluxe Smile edition costs somewhere between $200 and $300.

I'll take that bet. Say, $50 ?  Smiley

I'd put my $ on between $100 and $150

If it cost more than $200 i might wait until it "Falls off the back of a truck" if u know what i mean.

It's going to be interesting to see what sort of content will be in the 60 page booklet, ie Rare/new pics etc.
I think that in itself could be worth the purchase price!

Jeesh, I mean, I have the money to buy it, but in this economy....over $200? I'm sure it will be a great set, but I really can't spend that much and be happy with my financial future - too much going on right now. Bummer. My spending limit on this was $175.

I know it's SMiLE, but agh, I can't think about $ right now.

Yeah Rab, with what's going on in the world economy, right now is probably the worst time to be releasing a $200 box set ,i would of thought.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if the whole thing is put on hold.Lets hope not.

I wouldn't think it would be put on hold (but with the way things are going, you may be right)...I really hope they don't expect a lot of people to shell out that kind of money right now. I know there are blessed people working day and night on this thing, but we fans work for a living too and we're not all raking in a lot of dough. Heck, I don't even own a vinyl player.

Well, they're selling a product, people will buy it, end of story I guess.

This is not an edit. There are others like it but this is something a moderator decided to do in his spare time...yay word replacements!

on a side note, record any new covers lately, McGuire?

Would that be good exposure for Brian? SMiLE and Disney album around the same time? Could he promote two albums without there being too many SNAFUs?

Don't talk like that, the smile-boxset dreamer gestapo will put the hurt on you. If it really comes to this, if we're in the throes of an economic apocalypse I propose we just say f*** it and march on Capitol and just take the tapes once and for all. Who's with me!?

Seriously though, I really can't believe we're still waiting for info on this. Tomorrow maybe? Will tomorrow be the day they finally put us out of our misery. This week? Next week? At some point they have to announce it.

As if that was hard to project? I've been predicting this for years, and some smart economists have too (the same people that projected the 2008 financial crisis). So that's why I've been buying a lot of gold (you should too). Obama is a horrible president, the US won't be able to pay back their debts and will go into the worst depression the country has ever experienced.

Damn, OT again.

Ontopic: How groovy is the bass tag of early Wind Chimes, exactly? Probably the grooviest thing I've ever heard. It's really groovy as f***.

Bom-BAM-babadi-bam-bam-bedoobiedoo. Love it when Brian sings along with the bass on the Smile dvd.

Hi, my name is Niall and I'm an alcoholic

Hi, my name is Michael and I'm a SMiLEoholic.  Roll Eyes

Though my name is Michael, it isn't pronounced that way.

If you want to know: my name is Klaas.

Hello, Klaas!   So the mods here are Billy C, Jason, Joe, and Klass.  And my real name is Mikie.  See?  I almost think we know each other on a personal level now.  Kinda.

It's really good to know you guys aren't control freaks like somebody else I know from the Brian/Beach Boys message board community.  Serious, you guys are cool.

ah, there we go again... Klaas, not KlaSs. Happens all the time here... better stick to SMiLE-Holland I guess...  Smiley

In Germany, Rockerduck is called "Klaas Klever" - if you know who Rockerduck is. Now back to the new Beagle Boys box set.

Dirk is a dutch name?  I didn't know that. Course, I doubt I've really put much thought into where names come from.
Klaas, I know, comes from Sinter Klaas, the original Kris Kringle. So that means that Smile-Holland's other real first name( that he'd rather not mention now) must be Sinter. Am I right?
If you ask Mikie,  he'll probably tell you my real first name is Big, but, maybe, he won't
What's really in a name, anyway?

Hi Rick, Hi Dave, Hi Pop, well good morning Mom!
Speaking of the Nelson family, since when did they have a 3rd child? Wink

Long hidden 3rd Child; the  Black Sheep of the family.

Hi Klaas. Can you PM Black Pete (Zwarte Piet) that I want that Smile Sessions Box thing delivered in a brown linen sack (jute zak) on Dec 6 at the very last? Then I will still own it before all others here, I am afeard.

Make it two copies and drop them through my chimney. I will put an old shoe of mine there the night before, filled with a nice carrot, for your horse.

Thanks go out to you, mr Klaas. Sakkerloot, can't stand the wait! (Sorry).

Hey, Tansen... we offer you insider knowledge about so many different cultures of the world, with an emphasis on Hans Brinker Country, and you want to judge anonymously? Sakkerloot! What's an intelligent bunch of people to do whilst waiting for THE archival release of the past 50 years? Flame each other because of individual likes/dislikes of contents that we don't even know yet? The only other option I see is opening a betting contest about the actual release date. But I am against gambling any way.

Next in this theatre: reception of the Smile Sessions Box in Ulan Bator. And how Kim Il-Jong illegally downloaded the monster to avoid paying for it, with the U.S. Navy Seals invading his garden shed for retaliation.

Forget the economic crisis. Obama did not for nothing say that the USA still are an AAA country. F*ck Standard and Poor's, these are anti-cultural, underpriviliged, overpaid, tarot-card laying, tea leaf-reading, urine-watching, ball-gazing, and astrologically obsessed dimwits anyways, they do not merit nor will they have any place in the SMiLE saga at all. WE DO! THE REVOLUTION STARTS HERE AND WILL D*MN NOT BE TELEVISED!

And any self-respecting AAA country would release a $ 200 item of incomparable cultural significance. So will America. As Paul Williams wrote about the 1993 GV Box Set: eat peanut buttered sandwiches for a month if you must, this item is INDISPENSIBLE!

I am in my MOSES mood, folks. I will lead you out of Egyptian slavery, that ragged country where Kenny G. is Pharao's personal court favourite (but then, what does that diminutive sociopath Pharaoh know, har har???). I will lead you through the Red Sea, which parted after the mighty Mark Linett and Alan Boyd commanded it to do so. And together we will enter that Promised Land of Canaän, where our collected HI-FI SETS are set up. And I will see the back parts of THE LORD on Mount Horeb. and HE will give me a couple of thousand copies of that SMILE SESSIONS BOX SET!

Did ye hear me? DID YE HEAR ME?
