I made a chart that basically does this about a month ago, although it goes up to 10. And yes, I'm bad at averages. This is so awesome. I am an engineer, so charts about my favorite band send a tingle up my leg

Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: The Rarest Type of Beach Boys Song?

I can identify only 9 songs from 1962-1985 that have the following characteristics:
- One Lead Singer - No Harmony vocals by others (double or multi tracking the lead vocal is allowed) - No background harmonies, counter melodies, oohhs, ahhs, etc. (not even the slightest additional vocals other than the lead singer are allowed)
How do background vocals by the lead singer count? I wouldn't count them, but then there's the situation of Surfer Moon, which is Brian harmonizing with himself... a grey area!

Please correct me if I have forgotten anything or made a mistake:
Your Summer Dream, 1963, Brian In the Back of My Mind, 1965, Dennis Girl Don't Tell Me, 1965, Carl Don't Talk (Put Your Head on My Shoulder), 1966, Brian Caroline, No, 1966, Brian I'd Love Just Once to See You, 1967, Brian How She Boogalooed It, 1967, Carl Be Still, 1968, Dennis Busy Doin' Nothing, 1968, Brian

Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Magical Mystery Tour Coda

I've always loved the coda to MMT - it sounds very SMiLE-esque.
I wish the Beatles would have explored more of this instrumental type of music during their pscychadelic period.
Are there any other Beatles' song fragments or ideas that you wish they would have explored more fully?

Very sad news. The next few years are going to be rough for fans like me whose favorite music came from that generation.
As a matter of fact, I heard two Beach Boys songs in a row on Saturday, and knowing that no one in the group has a birthday coming up, I searched the net to make sure everyone was ok. Turns out that it was just a twofer.

Very well said.
Peter,
Words cannot adequately express the appreciation I feel for your vital role in helping Brian. Your concern and dedication to Brian's health, as well as your humbleness while being such an important factor in his remarkable improvement is admirable. You have my utmost respect.
Is there any particular reason why it has been more than 10 years since you have seen Brian?

Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: Favourite Beatles Song (Besides The Singles)?

"Tell Me What You See". Remove "besides the singles" & it's still my favorite Beatles song. John & Paul sound ace together. Also, I like friendly vibe I get from the song. Hon. mention: "Come and Get It".
Tell Me What You See is a very overlooked Beatles song. Good stuff. Agree about Tell Me What You See. I also like You're Going to Lose That Girl from the same album.
