The odds and ends collection. That label can be misleading since both volumes have some very VERY important tracks.

We will only include tracks from the collection which were recorded between 1962 - 1966. We will not include the German versions of "She Loves You" or "I Want To Hold Your Hand".
additionally we will include the 1965/66 tracks which can be found on Vol. 2. We will split the remaining tracks down the middle and create two tribes. The "Mersey" tribe and the "London" tribe. Each round we will vote off a track from each tribe.  I also shuffled "I Call Your Name" into the London tribe because it fit that aesthetic more.

Past Masters was originally issued as two separate CDs Past Masters, Volume One and Past Masters, Volume Two, on 7 March 1988. The two volumes were included in The Beatles Box Set. A double LP set, titled Past Masters, Volumes One & Two (also titled simply Past Masters), was subsequently released in the US on 24 October 1988 and in the UK on 10 November 1988.

The double set was re-released on CD, titled simply Past Masters, on 9 September 2009, as part of the remastering of the original Beatles catalogue, and was included in The Beatles stereo box set. This release includes stereo mixes of both "From Me to You" and "Thank You Girl", whereas the original 1988 issue contained the two tracks in mono. The The Beatles in Mono box set, released at the same time, includes the album Mono Masters, which contains a similar track list of dedicated mono mixes.

Vote for your LEAST FAVORITE from EACH TRIBE (two total).

Tally on May 10

THE MERSEY TRIBE

Love Me Do (single version feat. Andy White on drums)
From Me To You
Thank You Girl
She Loves You
I'll Get You
I Want To Hold Your Hand
This Boy
Long Tall Sally
Slow Down
Matchbox

THE LONDON TRIBE

I Call Your Name
I Feel Fine
She's A Woman
Bad Boy
Yes It Is
I'm Down
Day Tripper
We Can Work It Out
Paperback Writer
Rain

My vote for least favorite from Mersey Tribe is Matchbox. Great Carl Perkins. Not so great Ringo vocal.

My vote for least favorite from London Tribe is Bad Boy. I think it's pretty terribly recorded and Lennon's vocal is slightly embarrassing.

Mersey - This Boy

 Shocked wtf!  LOL

I feel bad for Bad Boy... would have fared better in Mersey Tribe. Lennon's vocal kicks ass!

Mersey: Matchbox
London: I'm Down (If I didn't love the backing vocals in I'm Down so much this would have been a much easier choice)

So glad you're doing the Past Masters, as one of my very favorite Beatles songs was not released on an album, but was a B side of a hit.

Anyway, my picks are

Love Me Do - have never cared for it, no matter the drummer

Bad Boy - wasn't even sure what this song sounded like. Listened to a bit from a Beatles tribute band, then remembered. Ugh, that song.

Will add that if Bad Boy gets knocked out, it will be really hard for me to pick the next one in the London Tribe, as I really like all of the remainder.

"No White Flags." - Team Gleason

"(Brian) got into this really touching music with songs like 'In My Room', and 'Good Vibrations' was amazing. The melodies are so beautiful, almost perfect. I began to realize he was one of the most gifted writers of our generation." - Paul Simon

12 votes spread across 3 Mersey songs and 3 London songs.

Close round in Mersey but the Matchbox finally fell from the hole in Ringo's clothes (6 votes ) and the Bad little kid moved OUT of the neighborhood. (8 votes )

Vote for your LEAST FAVORITE from EACH TRIBE (two total).

Tally on May 12

THE MERSEY TRIBE

Love Me Do (single version feat. Andy White on drums)
From Me To You
Thank You Girl
She Loves You
I'll Get You
I Want To Hold Your Hand
This Boy
Long Tall Sally
Slow Down

THE LONDON TRIBE

I Feel Fine

Yes It Is
I'm Down
Day Tripper
We Can Work It Out
Paperback Writer
Rain

Round#1 Bad Boy (London) May 10
Round#1 Matchbox (Mersey) May 10

Thank you girl, but no thank you. This one tries hard, but is kind of lackluster. I do like the "and all I gotta do" part the best.
She's A Woman. But not the kind I would associate with.
