Who's playing the organ on A Day In The Life Of A Tree? It's Brian, right?

What are the side track listing for the In Concert LP? I assumed it was 5 songs per side, but H&V kind of segues into Funky Pretty, so now am not sure. I'm bidding for the vinyl on ebay and am just curious how the LP is split.

Many thanks in advance!

I believe Mark added some stuff to make the album flow in the CD format. He also added the full intro to Wouldn't It Be Nice that is missing on the LP and Epic CD. The Epic CD release is the same as the LP.

Thanks for this Hypehat, and for your info Dr Beachboy - that explains how H&V flows into Funky Pretty on the cd yet is split on the LP. Looking forward to getting this on vinyl!

Edit: Woohoo, won it for £4.59 inc. shipping!!

Check the credits. I believe that was Andrew Sandoval, not Mark, who was responsible for those additions.

I'll check, but I wasn't aware that he was even involved in anything after 1999.

Two questions on Summer in Paradise the title track

1. Who plays lead guitar? (Kortchman? Craig Fall?)

2. Who sings lead vocals in the 3rd verse?

Is this the U.K. version? With Roger McGuinn on vocals?

I don't know. I heard this and was suprised to hear someone other than Mike Love on lead vocals:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avqh4xukkuo

That's the live version with Bruce singing that verse. Roger McGuinn sang on the U.K. studio version.

Thanks. That explains it. Mike Love totally outshines Bruce on that performance.

No problem! It sounds great on vinyl too, think mine's an original 70's one - the inserts are for Warner Loss Leaders with tonnes of that periods stuff.

I don't think my previous post was clear - obviously on something like inbetween Darlin' and Marcella they inserted chatter, but the audience noise dies out in between, say The Trader & You Still Believe in Me as well. Can't tell whether that's crackles or no, like I said my copy seems pretty old.

Dug out my own copy of the CD.

Andrew Sandoval worked on the Reprise 2fer reissues: for some reason, Mark didn't. He came back into the picture with the revised version of Endless Harmony. Gotta be a good tale in there somewhere...

I completely forgot that Mark didn't work on the Reprise album remasters. Probably is the reason that they were not remastered using HDCD. I always thought that was odd too. I like Andrew Sandoval's work. GH 1 & 2 sound really great and he used the original mono single mixes.

Except on "Fun Fun Fun," where there was some kind of screw-up and the mono album mix was used. Compare the version on the Singles box from a couple of years ago to that on GH1.

Yep, and luckily there are other releases that have the single mono mix included. It is the only package on CD to include the single mono mixes of Don't Worry Baby & California Girls. The U.S. Singles box uses the LP mono mixes for both.

I've heard a lot of different versions of Heroes & Villains. What's your favorite fan-mix? I've heard so many, and they are all vastly different due to how large H&V really is. Just curious.

Question: The version of In My Room by Tammy Wynette with Brian Wilson on the 'Tammy Wynette Remembered' compilation - is this a proper studio version sans the talking over the top of it like in the Stars & Stripes DVD?

Not exactly - it's a remix with more Brian and much less BB.

Get The Boot Vol. 2
Track 13
Does anyone know where this track comes from? The back says "possibly an Adult/Child outtake". I'd like to live in this sound. It sounds like an off the cuff kinda thing.

It΄s actually "Here Come De Honeyman" by Miles Davis. It appeared on a 1983 (?) Smile boot as a tracker.

There's a another couple of tracks on there that aren't what they say they are.

17 - is actually Mike's solo "(We're The) Endless Summer Band". He did it live once or twice.

23 - is an early (1976) track for "Angel Come Home".
