I spoke to my friend yesterday who'd just got back from a meeting (in the UK) with EMI about their Q4 release schedule. I was really really tired when I spoke to him so I'll try and remember what he said. The Smile Sessions is still not on the EMI schedule (even Q4). I think he said it wasn't even in the budget yet (?). Thinks it could be released in the new year (!). EMI had just seen the artwork in the last week (?). The basis for the box set is the Bowie 'Station to Station' box set that came out last year.

Even though it's not on EMI's Q4 schedule does anyone if it could be released at relatively short notice? Should have asked him that really...

Now that statement is just nonsensical. Just plain wrong, unless they're talking UK promo budget, and even then it's highly questionable.  The budget will have been the first thing set.

Please note that the aforementioned sites are based in Belgium and the Netherlands, respectively.   I don't believe that those countries have observed German national holidays since 1944-45.

Probably 2,580. 

Yeah but if they release a stop-gap-bunt-instead-of-a-grandslam product with a few Smile songs on it in the meantrime, then decide afterwards to release the Smile Sessions minus those few songs that appeared on the interim material, then I'd say there would be a limited run of 9002.

So, it's cat no. ST2580 copies for the public at large, and 1787 signed copies for SS.net board members = 4367.  Actually, yiou can make that 4366 cos Phil won't be purchasing something he's convinced won't exist, yes?

Not totally but you are nearing. I took 2580 and subtracted 1787 for the board. Leaves only 793 for the rest of the would, which will be out to kill us al.

Don't roll your eyes at ME, mister! Your "if" referred to the October 3rd date, implying that the "known" date was the US date -- which you put at one week before the speculated European date -- thereby confirming September 27th! So there! 

That was my reading of it to … ah, where would we be without ambiguity.

And now David wades in with a solid fact. But what about the UK/European date David?  I'm still hanging out for Sept 26!

I was told that it had been moved to October 4, 2011. I don't have any more information than that. That doesn't mean that it is coming out on Oct. 4…
