For a second, I just imagined hearing the news that the boxset is out now, but when I get to the CD store I see a mostly green box with trees, flowers and bushes and on the front it reads "THE SMILEY SMILE SESSIONS".

I'd be like   RRRRRRRRRRR (this goes on for a minute and 45 seconds, the cashier and everyone else in the store stares at me, slightly freaked out, the cashier just getting ready to pick up the phone..)

And then I'd be like   Welllllllllllllllll.....if I must! Oh what the hell, I'll take it!

(Honestly, I'm still not sure exactly what my reaction would be...but as much as it would be a EXTREME disappointment, meh..I'd still get it)

If they would really release the SMiLE sessions in August, we would have had an official announcement of the release date by now. I'm still hoping for a September date...

All I meant was, Yes, the inner circle knows about it, and sure, some people at Capitol could rattle off some song titles, but if there's one person who has the final tracklist burned into his soul right now, it's ML. But maybe there's two, with the other being our resident cheshire cat...

It hasn't even been delayed once yet.  All that was announced was summer, and we have about 70 days left before that time is over.  The dates given by retailers have never meant anything.

The last Tuesday of Summer is September 20th. With communication in this day and age, 30 days prior is plenty of time for pre-promotion. I'm guessing we don't hear anything from Capitol until mid-August.

Good rational thinking. I'd predict: promotion starts in the beginning of August, and release is on September 20th. Makes sense, it is 7 weeks of promotion, and in time for the Grammy submissions. Perhaps the latest mag editions are printing ads as we speak. Internet following up on that in the first week of September.

I was being sarcastic and agree retailers dates are nothing to go on.

I'll be curious to see if we find anything out in the next issue of Uncut that promises a 'view' of the Smile Sessions (is that right? Haven't actually seen the bit in the mag myself). I think the next issue is due July 28th so not too long for us to wait. Of course, if Mr. Doe would care to commit career suicide and just put us out of our misery ....
