To answer the topic brought up above, yes, the Analogue Productions releases (vinyl and CD/SACD hybrid) are legit, licensed releases. I'm not sure what would possibly make anyone think they're not. They were/are sold through legitimate retailers, and have known names that remastered them.
They weren't discussed a ton here, but I think that was just a confluence of a bunch of things (the 2012 reissues being relatively recent at the time, not a super huge interest here in high-rez, and the incomplete nature of both reissue campaigns).
The current mode of running through the catalog and getting the albums back out there in physical form and also presenting a ton of outtakes (e.g. Feel Flows and Sail on Sailor) is ideal, and I certainly hope we continue to see the 70s covered in one form or another.
I bought all of he analogue production masters as high res downloads. They are easily the best editions of those albums. I don’t expect them to be bettered. Absolutely vital purchases.

The Paley Sessions are simply Brian’s finest moment as a solo artist. It’s not easy being me is his greatest song this side of love and mercy. This is a great soundtrack. Just get the rest released.
Agreed. All of those tracks deserve a proper release. They kick the @$$ of BW88 and Sweet Insanity, IJWMFTT, OCA, Imagination, and everything released since. This was Brian being Brian, without any outside influences (i.e. record companies, band members, lawyers, wives). I’ve probably listened to the Paley Sessions, over the past 15 or so years that I’ve had a copy, as much as any of my favourite albums. It’s amazing art and just so enjoyable. I’m a 50 year old man who is more than happy to sing Slightly American Music at the top of my lungs. It is ridiculous and it feels good! It’s definitely one of my favourite Brian periods.

Gotta say I love the Brian Wilson album cover.
Me too (check my avatar)! It was this cover art, on the cassette, that got me to buy this album back in 1988, as a young teen with little disposable income... I liked the cover and loved what I heard. And that's why I'm posting on this board nearly 30 years later. First BB/BW related album I ever bought too.

The Glasgow show was poor. It gives me no pleasure to report. Of the 20 odd Brian shows I'very seen this was easily the worst. Brian was just not there. Vocal flubs, missed cues, bad phrasing, he gave up on I know there's an answer. The band seemed to lack energy. The sound had none of the definition and precision I've come to expect. Matt sounded wonderful but was mixed too low. It was uncomfortable 90% of the time. I say this as someone who has seen some transcontent Brian shows, at least 3 of which are in my top 5 concerts I've ever been too.

I combined the best songs from Act 1 & Act 2 and it's a pretty decent tracklisting. Still keeps fairly well to the concept of the piece.
1. Preservation (single) 2. Daylight 3. Sweet Lady Genevieve 4. There's A Change In The Weather 5. Where Are They Now? 6. Sitting In The Midday Sun 7. When A Solution Comes 8. Sheperds Of The Nation 9. Second-Hand Car Spiv 10. Mirror Of Love 11. Artificial Man 12. Salvation Road
You can't leave Nothing Lasts Forever out, its beautiful.

Rest in Peace to a man who has left us with an immortal gift, beautiful music. He will never be forgotten in the annals of music history for the skill and professionalism with which he used to craft and create a beautiful gift for us all. Deaths like this always make me think of one of my favourite poems by Mary Elizabeth Frye: Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle Autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush. I am the swift uplifting rush. Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there; I did not die. RIP Sir Martin, 2016 has been a rough year for music buffs for sure wow, I've never read that before. Beautiful expression of death. I'll miss George.

I'm surprised the Kinks ain't been mentioned. I'm a huge fan but don't really want to see a reunion. I'm not a fan of reunions. Ray has done a couple of fine solo albums, I'd be up for a few more. I didn't even get excited for the Bb's reunion, liked TWGMTR though. I'm more than happy with BW's solo career and certainly don't clamour for another reunion. Sorry. I also loved walking into Clarksdale by Plant and Page and I would be happy to see them work together again without the weight of a Zep reunion.

The new Suede album 'Night Thoughts', the second of their millennial comeback. It's much better than their last album 'Bloodsports' which was quite a dull disappontment. They've come roaring back, and This one is a seamless epic, with all tracks bleeding into the next with big arena-size hooks and gobs of drama. It's all very over-the-top in the best entertaining way. If you've never tried their music, this is a fine entry point.
will be picking this one up this week, big Suede fan. Is the accompanying dvd good?

Beside all his best known songs, which I like as well, there's:
The Bewlay Brothers his cover of Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere
and his new/final album Black Star has made a big impression, not simply because of the circumstances surrounding it (though it plays a role) but because I find it awesome. There ought to be a thread dedicated to the best final albums by artists who knew that they were making their last album.
Interesting (to me anyway) that he was born in '47 and Black Star was his 47th album, and that his career really began to take off in '69 and he died at the age of 69.... You'll be missed Mr. Jones.
Warren Zevon's The Wind is a fantastic last album. Sad, funny, uplifting and despairing. A truly incredible last statement directly addressing his impending step into the ether.

Richard Hawley, Hollow Meadows, give it a listen, this guy is consistently excellent. I would think any BW aficionado will appreciate the songwriting and production. While your at it, Lowedges and Coles Corner are unrecognized classics. As Richard would say 'lets ballad!'.
