Is there any place online where the 12 new remasters are being sold together as one set?

I can't get enough of the live What'd I Say cover, holy hell it's so good. Are there any other standout moments from the band's early concert days? I'm not very familiar with what's out there in live bootlegs so any direction you point in is a good one ^_^

Incredible, isn't it? They should have tried rocking like that more often.

Well, they had Murry
after
he found out about the sex and (I think) booze that their old road manager simply ignored, right?
well the reason for the question in question is why Dennis and Mike were at each other's throat (or so the books say). Mike was quite a bit older than Dennis and I wouldn't think that they'd hang out with each other that much. From what I remember it was Mike, Brian and Al in one half (or 3/5) of the group who were the older guys who were the founders of the group and did most of the heavy lifting while Dennis and Carl were the other half (or 2/5) that were the tagalongs.

Mike Love, born 3/15/41.
Dennis Wilson, born 12/4/44.
Yeah -
quite
a bit older.

I'm with you. My brother is 4 years older than me, and we couldn't relate to each other at all when we were younger.

Here's a fun one, has anyone else heard the car engine after the drum intro in 'Shelter?' My headphones were halfway in when I went to listen to the song, and it played without the drums and a car engine noise right before the vocals came in. You can hear it very faintly under the drum intro and I've only got my headphones to do it one more time since. I'm trying desperately to get it again so I can record it very rough through garage band.

You can get that in a simpler way - 'out of phase' the recording. I don't know how you could do it in garageband, but it's very easy in Audacity if you have that!

In fall 1961 Dennis was 16 going on 17, Mike was six months past 20.

I'm speaking to Ego's point that four years is a large difference in general, not just related to the band! But I'll bite - I am close enough to Mike's age and I wouldn't dream of hanging out with 16 year old kids....Mostly because they suck and can't buy beer.
But I've forgotten what we're arguing about. This Scott Walker album is freaking me out.

It seems to me that sometime between the release of 20/20 in 1969 and pictures I've seen from 1970, Carl seemed to sort of grow up a lot. He looked less boyish, and mainly he seemed to have lost some weight. Does anyone know whether this is true, or whether I'm just totally imagining things?

So did Do it Again hit number 1 or number 2 in Aus? I've read conflicting accounts.

Mike warns Brian the mic is 'live' - giving off electric vibes. Brian seems to be annoyed by this, touches it anyway and it shocks him. So he hits it.

I have a few questions related to the "Heroes & Villains" performance on the Endless Harmony documentary:
What show or special is the performance originally from?
Does anyone have the full version and if so could they please upload it onto youtube? (I love Elvis Costello, believe me, but I'm not a big enough fan of Costello to be perfectly fine with him cutting off a great performance of H&V.
)
Why does Mike incorporate that "DUH HEROES DUH HEROES DUH HEROES AND UH VILLAINS" bit from the H&V 'Sections'? Perhaps it was one of Mike's favorite parts he recorded for H&V? I don't mind it, I'm just curious about why Mike uses it in some of the live performances of H&V.

I wanna say Central Park, 1971? Good Vibrations in Central Park is the common name for the boot.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aixUmdM2AKQ
This says so, although I'm wary....
A) Don't know about a full version.
B) Mike still does that! If you're being unkind, he's mocking the song. If you're being realistic, he's just riffing on one of his parts from the sessions!
