I cannot for the life of me find sheet music for Gettin' Hungry, anybody have it? Or even a midi of it?
also if anybody has pdfs of the bwps sheet music that'd be nice
It's not sheet music, but here's the chart for it:
Gettin' Hungry (Brian Wilson/Mike Love)
(original key: B)
Intro: C........F........C........F
...Dm................................................Am
I wake up in the mornin' just to work all through the day
..........Dm....................................................Am
That sun can get so hot that you can sweat your strength away
............F................Dm7.....................G7
And ooooohhhhhhhh come the night time
...............C...............................F
Gettin' hungry, hungry for my kind o' woman
....................C...................................F
I'm gettin' hungry, soon I gotta find me a woman
....................C......................................G7
I'm gettin' hungry, searchin' for a pretty girl
...........Dm...............................................................Am
But I still get up in the mornin' though it's so hard all day long
.........Dm..............................................................Am
If it weren't for the love of a woman I don't think I'd continue on
...........F..............Dm7........................G7
And ooooohhhhhhhh come the night time
....................C7..........F7
I'm gettin' hungry, hungry, for my kind of woman
C...................................F
Hungry, hungry for my kind o' woman
....................C...................................F
I'm gettin' hungry, soon I gotta find me a woman
....................C......................................G7
I'm gettin' hungry, searchin' for a pretty girl
Chart prepared by Francis Greene
Ah, see, I'd like to know the organ part.

Which song: Inappropriate relationship with sister-in-law
Which song: Gonna straight up bang you with "the wood".
Which song: Weather conditions make me horny
Which song: Lack of proper shoes leads to potential blood poisoning and death.
Which song: Who needs church? Let's do it on the couch.

Where do you suppose Warner Brothers Records stores the thousands of copies of Surfin safari they got in trade for the New Copies of Surf's UP?
What was the deal here then?
I'm not sure what you're asking.
I think he doesn't know what you are talking about and was wondering what went on with this trade, much like me.
basically, Waners/Reprise ran a promotion where they offered to send anyone a copy of the New Surf's Up LP, when they sent in their old copy of Surfin Safari.
A bit like the Song Cycle thing? 'Send us in yr old copy + $0.01 and we'll send you two brand new ones!'.
Whoever dreamt this stuff up (Stan Cornyn?) must have had the best drugs in the WB office. Was there an ad? And has anyone got a scan?
I"d swear there was an ad, cuz I don't think I could dream that . But I haven't been able to find it, tho I'll keep looking.
Maybe if you wake up Mikie, he'll have it

Does anyone here think that there best hope in the 1970s (in terms of commercial success) was as sort of a soft-rock group in the mold of someone like Marvin Gaye, Chicago, Todd Rundgren etc? Songs like "All This Is That", "Till I Die" "Sail On Sailor" etc. ?

Ahh! Closest I've come so far is the BBs Contest from the August 1972 Creem, which mentions the promo:
Cool, thanks for looking!

Earlier this year there was a botched translation from Japanese to English (forget what the actual article or press release was), which had Bruce's name as Historical Johnston.

well, since I still can't find an actual ad for the SS/SU trade, I'll dredge up a really ancient issue which I've always wondered about.
Has anyone EVER seen one ( or more) of the bags of Beach Boys Party Potato Chips? while I know they'd be old/moldy now, it wouod be cool to see one of the bags. ( or the countertop holder) seems if they really made 1 million bags, someone would have one!

I'm coming around to liking the sound of
15 Big Ones
if not the songs themselves. I think it's the weird mass of synthesizers and strings plus the drums and percussion -- it's dense, almost stupid. I guess this is sorta why it's considered his "Wall of Sound album"? It's interesting too since beyond
15 Big Ones
you don't hear that sound anywhere else,
Love You
is much less produced and except for maybe
Spring
you hear it on nothing else Brian produced around that time.
The "can't wait to see her face" ending to "Airplane"... where did that come from? Is there any story to it, was it a bit of some scrapped song or a spontaneous addition by Brian during recording... anything?

He wanted to make his voice rock more (as he was always sensitive about is 'Mickey Mouse' falsetto), and his voice from 1967 is already starting to show strain. I think the voice he had by 1975 was due to NOT singing at all or hardly using his vocal chords for that matter + endless smoke and coke. That I do not believe he intended. So basically neglect of vocal chords + smoking and drugs which f*** up a voice even more. If you are a singer, you'll notice that your singing voice deteriorates if not used for long periods of time.

A question of my own.
Did the Boys really play "Surfin' " at the Hawaii shows in 1967 or was that rehearsal in the studio only for that. Because if they really played in the crucial year of 1967 there is no wonder they were damning themselves in contemporary pop culture.

Wikipedia. They should be accurate because I transcribed them from the song credits, myself, with my own two, mighty hands.

They were initially 'posted' on the back of the original album sleeve in 1976, then again in 1991 on the CD reissue, and again in 2001 on the 2nd CD reissue.
Failing your having the albums (and if not,
why not
?), try the excellent Album Liner Notes site at
