Probably his intention though, considering "Fall Breaks" and "Who Ran the Iron Horse."

Great thread idea, very easy way to keep everything straight.

Not to put words in his mouth, but I thought AGD (and others) confirmed the flown-in vocals on "Great Shape" and "Barnyard."

I thought that Lelia... ( or Whatever her name is...) said this, I don't remember AGD ever confirming it, but... okay, I guess he did now :D

I must have been thinking of Mr. Scneider on the Hoffman board - tough to keep the barrage of info straight. Either way, having Andrew's confirmation is the most solid we could ask for, so I'm glad I brought it up!

Just that - a rumour from someone on the Hoffman. No specifics....

4. Do You Like Worms (Roll Plymouth Rock) (3:36)
Features some vocals, but no lead

6. Barnyard (0:48)
Features "Flown in" Animal Sounds
Features "Tape Echo Blast"

11. Child Is Father of the Man (2:14)
Features Verse Vocals

4. This has always had some vocals. A lot of vocals actually. I've never understood why so many people think this song sounds so incomplete. It can totally pass as a completed song without the BWPS vocals. People are too afraid of instrumental music and lack of a discernible melody. Anyway, i digress. My point being it's always had a good amount of vocals.

6. What is the rumor source for flown-in animal sounds? Animal sounds from where? And what's the source for tape explosion in Barnyard? Is this not the tape explosion at the end of IIGS leading into Barnyard?

11. What was said on the Hoffman board was new vocals in the second chorus, nothing about verse vocals. What is the source for the rumor of new verse vocals?

Just to consider: There is a tape echo explosion (blast) which was NOT included in that new Heroes mix. Maybe somehow in the scheme of things that explosion which was an integral part of Chuck Britz's '67 Heroes mix got shifted elsewhere...or maybe the order was an original sequence. Or maybe "Barnyard" got excised from Heroes to make Chuck's mix suitable for a single back in '67. That tape explosion by nature could lead anywhere in the song.

Dom, is that you???

Just kidding, I actually agree completely.  I've never though the song sounded incomplete, even though I knew it was missing a probable verse lead vocal.  There's enough there to make it an amazing track without them though - the creepy (and sometimes downright scary) music, the crazy chorus vocals and that amazing bridge.  Out of all the tracks clearly missing a lead vocal, it's the only one that I feel stands strongly on it's own anyways.

Like monicker said, surely the Leila rumour on Hoffman was about new CHORUS vocals in CIFOTM, not verse ones?

And similarly, surely there's no lead vocal on Worms going by the rumour? So where did that stuff in this list about 'features some new vocals' on that come from? EDIT: Or does that refer to the 'tape drag' vocals? I see there's been subsequent to and fro on Hoffman about those with 'Leila' about those. But then they aren't really 'new' vocals, are they? I mean, they were commercially released in 1993...!

And there's also a claim on Hoffman (from supposed friend 'B') that might invalidate the whole lot - that there are new vocals over the Truck Driving Man section of Cabin Essence, and EVEN ON THE MOJO VERSION. Like I've just posted in another thread here, if that's BS from 'B' and 'S' (ha ha), it has the massive disadvantage (from a hoaxer's point of view) of being VERIFIABLE BS, as we have the Mojo version already. If there is anything new there, it must be way down in the mix on the Mojo version; I can't hear anything on that track. But then... why make that claim, if it's so easy to prove wrong?

The guy on the Hoffmann forum who has tried the hardest to discredit Leila also thinks the Truck Driver vocals are louder on the Mojo 45 than on the 20/20 version

10. Look (Song for Children) (2:31)
Features "Child, Child, Child" Vocals
Mine does  Grin

18. Love to Say Dada (2:32)
Features "Scat Vocals" (Cool Cool Water Fly In?)
Very unlikely they'd top "Dada" with the "Cool Cool Water" scat vocs, because both versions aren't in the same key (and digital pitch manipulation in this case is way too much).

And yet we may have this:

15. Holidays (2:33)
Fades into Wind Chimes (with Smiley Vocals Flown in)

Unless someone spent a hell of a lot of time mixing the end of "Holidays" into the unused harpsichord-esque "whispering winds" section that involves it starting in the key of "Holidays" and then changing keys into the traditional "whispering winds" key, this is gonna be bad.

Also, if this one is true...

11. Child Is Father of the Man (2:14)
Features New Second Chorus Vocals

Might this just be the harmony vocals in the 2nd chorus that we've already heard but someone forgot to include on the BWPS version? I'm gonna guess this is "rumored" from the Leila post, and if so, she seems quite familiar with BWPS but nothing of the original, thus these may be "new" to her.

I don't know how to explain the vocals, but they're very much missed on BWPS.

Also:

12. Surf's Up (4:12)
Features '71 Coda

I thought it was said that this was different from the '71 ending?
