After hearing the news about Tony Iommi i had a Black Sabbath listening session last night

'National Acrobat' was the Sabbath song that got me into them so i cranked up the stereo, enjoyed some 'sweet leaf' and enjoyed the whole 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' album

I've just recently discovered the post Jim Morrison era of The Doors, I've been listening to a lot of the two records Other Voices and Full Circle, interesting stuff for sure, Piano Bird is a nice jazzy song that stands among their best work.

Beck - Sea Change, a really beautiful record I never much paid attention to, very heartfelt and emotionally charged music...Hope he releases a new album soon, it's been almost 4 years and this die hard fan is getting antsy!

Blown away.  Cheesy

The "sound" on 'Early in the Morning' is fantastic, it feels like they recorded it at 3.30am

I'm playing it again tonight!

Great album. Have you heard much more from Nilsson? My favourite albums are Harry and Nilsson Sings Newman. But there are lots of great ones in the discography.

Yeah, I really like it.  While I've been aware of his big personality (the legendary Lennon hook-ups), it's my first listen to anything Nilsson (bar that big, big song).  I chanced upon this copy in a charity store for $3, so I thought what the hell.

As a result I'm pretty inspired to delve, so thanks for your suggestions!

Seriously, you need to. They all become essential after a while, but Nilsson Sings Newman is the pinnacle. Son of Schmilsson is also great, a really individual and funny album. Or, watch The Point. I heartily recommend this blog http://fortheloveofharry.blogspot.com/ which has all the good stuff should you wish to dive in!
