Thanks, Will. Though I must confess to preferring The Byrds' fantastic original (I hope M and Bubs didn't mind me giving it a sneak listen)...

Have a good weekend yourself. :=(

Thank you for not using the name I have recently been dubbed.

That's a shame, john. Any love for the Shins or Fleet Foxes or Tame Impala at all? Another three I adore, so...

As for Fleet Foxes, I have Helplessness Blues, which I remember liking----another album I must revisit soon.

And guess what happened this afternoon? I'd forgotten just how good it was!

I have an illegal copy of Wincing The Night Away, which I haven't played in years. Must rectify that soon...

A while back I somehow found my way to James Mercer's Broken Bells. I started on After the Disco before general opinion drove me towards the debut, which I loved.

Same goes for Kevin Parker's Pond----Hobo Rocket is, well, a blast. Smokin

As for Fleet Foxes, I have Helplessness Blues, which I remember liking----another album I must revisit soon.

I don't hate the three other artists (SJS, BH and VW)----they just don't register with me. Anyway, it would be weird if I liked everything you like. Grin

Meanwhile, here's something you might try: https://sugarcandymountain.bandcamp.com/album/mystic-hits

I think I prefer Broken Bell's first album over their second.
WTNA is one of my favorite albums ever. I saw 3 used copies at various record stores just yesterday. Should sent you a copy, because it's one to (legally) own and cherish. :D

I saw Tame Impala live recently. Blew my mind! Kevin Parker is pretty cool. Glad to know you know about Pond as well! Impressive, really Wink.

In fact, I have bought that Sugar Candy Mountain album already. A good summer album, and they clearly love the Beach Boys!

Hey John.  Hey undercover-m and Bubs.  I'm not calling you that.  Wasn't that just in the shoutbox?  That should scroll away soon...  Wait, in the We're Getting Drunk threads?  Tell folks that you don't like it.  If they do it again, tell them again!  Don't wait for them to read it over here. LOL

I don't really know the music of the Fleet Foxes, but I like Tame Impala very very much, one of the better modern bands - great live, too!  I own one of the Shins' albums, and like most of what I have played over the years.

I've gotten to know Bubbly's moods well over time, and his musical likes and dislikes, so - his library if you will.  I love the Everly Brothers.  If you look around, I've posted about it here.

Hope all of you are headed towards a great week-end.  I See You -Will
I thank you for also avoiding the usage of that name.

Fleet Foxes is a local band for me. Beach Boys-esque harmonies with a Simon & Garfunkel folk style—the best of both worlds. "Montezuma" might be one of my favorite songs ever.

Which Shins album? You'd be fine with any of them, although I hope it's either WTNA or Oh, Inverted World.

Opinion.  Me and Mr. Stevens parted ways when he released this.  His best, for now, is behind him.
Have you listened to All Delighted People, the EP released prior to Age of Adz? Or Carrie & Lowell at all?

The latter is one of my favorite albums ever. Incredibly minimalistic compared to Illinois, but so incredibly emotional. Evokes feelings I didn't even know I was capable of feeling.

Here's the song that got me into the album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJJT00wqlOo

I just took the ten minutes it takes to play this.  Nice after dinner music - that's what I just finished in my time zone.

"Oh God, Where Are You Now?" - that's the Sufjan I love.  From my favorite album by him.  It was the first one I discovered, so maybe that has something to do with it.
But probably not.  Beautiful album.  I got into Sufjan around the same time I got into Sam, 2004.  These past dozen years, it's this type of music I am drawn to the most.
This particular track is a very good example of that.

The States theme turned out to be a gimmick, but did we really believe he could do all 50?  naw.

It's too close to party-time for me to comment right now.  Got some Stevens notes I've been saving to put up at PSF.  soon soon...

It's Saturday Night, and that means Fun!

Like so many other bands Talking Heads has almost entirely passed me by. Though I do love the album Byrne cut with Eno:

And that one single by the band (with a classic video):

After reading the "Carol Mountain" story in Brian's bio, for some reason this song popped into my head.  Cheesy

"Don't you feel my leg" by Blu Lu Barker and her husband Danny Barker's band:
