God bless you Brian on your continuing journey.
2  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Upcoming 2025 & 2026 Archival Releases on: May 26, 2025, 06:41:24 PM
Since it seems discussing is picking up regarding archival plans, with recent Al Jardine interviews, etc., I figured it was worth mentioning that, concerning potential future Pet Sounds/Smile projects, those will most likely be pushed back to 2026.

The Love You box is coming by year's end. Details are still air-tight, but it seems the team parted ways with Mark Linett last summer.

Did Mark retire?

Thank you Billy!

These are golden. Actually listenable.
5  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Mount Vernon and Fairway: A Fairy Tale by the Beach Boys CARTOON on: October 03, 2024, 11:57:22 PM
A very lovely and authentic-feeling cartoon animation of Mount Vernon and Fairway. Just like it came out of the 70's! lol

Love it.

Nope. No thanks. Do not like.

I might be the only one here who likes the Stephen Sanchez song (and I happen to be a fan of his anyway ).

Just a reminder of how little I have in common with the BB fandom these days lol

I like him too. Viral song hit and the whole album is pretty good.

you can like the song and the singer but it still has no place on a Beach Boys 60th anniversary documentary soundtrack. smfh

But, I definitely agree with bossaroo. Including it is a real headscratcher. Corporate buying incentive for knewbies I guess.

links to some artists I’ve been listening to lately with an old school sound:

Sierra Ferrell:  https://youtu.be/tMkqyMfqqgA

Charlie Crockett:  https://youtu.be/gSr0hF_MzSc

Wayne Hancock: https://youtu.be/0qlM3BgJhQQ

Sierra Ferrell is fabulous. CBS This Morning did a feature about here a few weeks ago too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqc6_n_lgvE

Anyone ever hear Willie Carlisle? His music is pretty great too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbdBwI58MyE

From Dae Lims, a superb Good Vibrations AI stereo remix.

Tasteful remix. Well done daelims.
10  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: Streaming vs Owning: Do you miss the good ol’ days of music? on: April 20, 2024, 01:12:42 AM
The majority of my music money goes to my record collection and my blueray collection (and my toys).

I am pro-physical media 100%

Everyday I look forward to coming home from work and using an online random album picker to choose an album to spin.

Well said Rab.

I understand why AI terrifies some people. But like it or not, AI will leave just about no job or profession untouched.

Nice work Jesse. (as usual)

Thanks for sharing.  3D

Now here's an interesting idea-Caroline No not by Brian Wilson, but by the Beach Boys.

Pretty cool. Tastefully done.

I always thought Dennis' "My Love Lives On" needed some BB harmony woven into it.

I would love to hear early 70's Brian singing A Day In The Life Of A Tree.

Love to Brian and family. This is, no doubt, a very difficult time for all of them. I hope they are able to maintain a standard of comfort for Brian.

Did anyone rip the audio? I was going to (I had a feeling) but decided to answer nature’s call first.

It was beautiful.

I'd love to hear this, as well, hoping someone got it.
I've been looking for alternates on YouTube, nothing yet.

Daelims is now a member of the board here, and I hope the L&M track is made available again in some way, I missed it before it was removed. Hopefully there is an explanation why it got taken down.

He had a live listen just after he took it down. He said it upset people that he posted it so soon after it was announced that Melinda passed away and some thought it was not in good taste (I thought it was a wonderful tribute). So he voluntarilly took it down.

18  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / RIP Melinda Kay Ledbetter Wilson (1946-2024) on: January 30, 2024, 08:10:47 PM
Sad news. I am genuinely shocked. Cry

Not sure we would have had Brian around for as long as we have were it not for her.

I haven't seen any news pages pick this up yet. I learned it from Brian's Facebook page.

Some tasteful moments from AI Al, AI Carl, and AI Brian. Bravo again.

I have had "Ding dong ding dong ding dong day. Frosty the Snowman has melted away!" on my mind quite often during the holidays.

Damn. Those bongos on A Hard Days Night (which I never noticed before) are relentless and amazing! Really propels it forward in a way I never experienced.

I am excited for this to actually materialize... unlike the Sessionography that was supposed to come with Made In California that never happened.  angel
25  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Brian AI Project. on: October 04, 2023, 07:05:05 AM
Enjoyable take on Child. The melody doesn't really slide into the overall backing the way I think it would had Brian intended it that way.. at least not as a literal insertion. Maybe with a few changes to the melody?

I really liked the addition of the children playing in the background.
