I still have a BBFUN news letter for the tour and without dragging it out for a direct quote, the band was surprised to hear that their last song to chart in Europe prior to Lady Linda, had been 'Cotton fields' so the decision had been made, at the insistence from Al perhaps, to do a short version of it in concert with little rehearsal. That is my take on Mikes comment. Light hearted only.

How many times were the Double Rock Baptist Church Choir used on songs that either the band used or for solo material ? And we're they compensated for their involvement ? Also whatever happened to them to them since then ? Compton pastor accused of embezzling $800,000 in church funds The Rev. E. Joshua Sims of Double Rock Baptist Church has been arrested after an 11-month sheriff's investigation. He allegedly used the money to pay for personal luxuries. August 20, 2009|Alexandra Zavis A Baptist minister was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of embezzling more than $800,000 from the church he leads in Compton to pay for personal luxuries, including an expensive car and swimming pool, officials said. The Rev. E. Joshua Sims, 47, pastor at Double Rock Baptist Church in Compton, was taken into custody without incident about 9:30 a.m. at his home in Corona, said Steve Whitmore, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Great for Iggy and the Stooges. How about a shirtless Iggy leading the end of show free-for-all with a rendition of 'Shortnin Bread'?
Like most here, I have a soft spot for the vocal groups. I would put The Hollies in the same league as The Ronnettes with a distinctive lead singer, great tunes but hardly ground breakers. Looking like they may reunite for the show.
Genesis. ok, ABBA...not my choice, Jimmy Cliff for durability.

For all its faults, it brought the band back to the attention of the public and showed them that a group of 40 somethings can still have a hit.
Without it would Mike and Bruce have the attendance they have? Who knows.
