Kendrick seems like a rad guy. He brought TWO people on stage to rap with him when I saw him a music festival. The crowd was literally going wild, in the most fun way
.
I'm listening to NPP, which I can finally give a solid listen to because school isn't bearing down on me as much right now.

Just listened to Carrie and Lowell all the way through for the first time after hearing "Should Have Known Better" several times.
Wow. Why have I not gotten into Sufjan earlier???

Emitt Rhodes' debut album. From this I'd say he sits nicely alongside other great singer-songwriters of the early 70s... the music here sounds to me like a cross between hippie-era McCartney and the Raspberries - lightweight but hook-filled and skillfully crafted pop. He also performed every instrumental part and every vocal on this, pulling it off with as much expertise as Rundgren. Good solid power pop, this.

If you're keen on the Beach Boys, Big Star, abstract writing, mood swings, and anti-depressants, this album comes highly recommended.
