6. On The Beach- Finders Keepers
4. A Dream For Julie- Kaleidoscope
Is the 1st song entirely psychedelic. Because the title is very telling in terms of surf rock.
I love "A Dream for Julie" very much! The guitar intro & solo are fantastic! And of course, Peter's voice (rare case when I actually like British accent).

Was listening to this earlier and now I'm listening again. It sounds good, anyone else into this group?

Stone cold rock 'n' roll classic.
As for me: Joseph Arthur's tribute album to the late Lou Reed,
Lou
. It's pretty good, actually. Exactly what you thought a josepharthurised Lou Reed might sound like.

I thought it was strange that a band called Finders Keepers, who have a song called On The Beach, sounded nothing like surf music. I really like the song though. It's got that harpsichordish keyboard thing going on. And the background vocals include a falsetto singer. I can hear a little bit of a 1966 Brian Wilson influence on Finders Keepers, but they remind me more of a Strawberry Alarm Clock/Orpheus/Electric Prunes sorta Psych Pop/Rock. Cool stuff!
And I agree about the intro in A Dream For Julie. Incredible stuff! My favorite Kaleidoscope song is Further Reflections In The Room Of Percussion. Total '67 Psych Out!

A live album I'd recommend to anyone really, but particularly BBs fans
with their weakness for angelic rock vocals and vulnerability in the face of earthly beauty
should check this one out:

The Velvet Underground Live 1993 album. Awesome performance, it's too bad the reunion didn't last. Love John Cale singing the Nico songs. While it might be sacrilege to say so, I prefer it to the Live 1969 and Max's Kansas City albums. The latter lacked Moe Tucker and both lacked John Cale, not to mention that both of those albums were recorded in very lacking sound quality. It's so great to hear all four of the originals playing the best of their entire catalogue to an large and incredibly appreciative audience.

Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def) is playing here on Saturday with the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. I actually have no idea what he's been up to as Bey so I'm not sure what to expect but Mos Def is/was dope as hell, and I'm listening to his collaboration with another good rapper, Talib Kweli.
