Also, those cameras were really blinding him  LOL

Say what you will about Jeff, but he nails those (really difficult) CG vocals.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Bit of a weird comment.   Are Jeff's guitar skills now dismissed along with his singing too?  Brian's music is complicated...not just your major and minor chords up there.  Every single person up there is a pro plus tax.  I don't think you can manage to stay in the band for that long and not bring it with the musical chops.

Solid performance.

Eh. Standard-issue unengaged BW one-off performance. Nothing terribly embarrassing, but certainly nothing venturing out of the "average" range.

Jeff Foskett flubbing a guitar intro at a three man gig for something I bet they don't give a crap about = obviously the man is Satan.

Agreed. Also, his voice was more nasal than usual...

that was probably the weakest CA Girls intro ever. Brian looked a little like "what the hell guys?"

at least they redeemed themselves. Brian flashed a genuine smile or two. not sure what Gary Griffin added to the blend, but good for him.

It was pretty rough, but they probably didn't rehearse and it's kinda hard to play electric guitar lines on an acoustic. I'm not the biggest fan of Jeff but I can understand this one.

I almost feel embarassed for Brian that they basically forced him to play with that kind of an intro, lol.

That intro is pretty hard to play.

Good stuff to watch never the less.

He says "O.K., it's called God Only Knows"

and some lady goes "Oh My Yes."

lol

How do we know he had a bad back? Just from the way he was walking in this clip?

He announces having a bad back that day when walking on stage. It's in the clip of him receiving the award and answering some questions.

Hee, good comment! Grin

But by Jeff's own admission he can play guitar just well enough so he can get onstage and sing; he's said that a number of times. That's why the tough guitar parts go to Scott Bennett, Probyn Gregory, or Nick Walusko - all of whom are spectacular. So that was probably not the kind of guitar work Jeff is best suited for.

But man, the hate for him here is just over the top ridiculous.
