Actually, what I'm doing is not so much beating a dead horse, as it is the symbolic equivalent of hurling a smoke bomb or tear gas cannister into the Capitol tower, to get their executives to emerge from the tower, and tell us fans what the situation presently is. 1 - you're annoying people, and not just here. I've told you this in private more than once.

2 - were I Peter, I'd find that observation disrespectful in the extreme: he is, however, far more forgiving than I. As for how much I may or may not know, irrespective of the exact degree it's still more than you do, and so does everyone posting here who's taken time to actually read the original (and continuing) reports.

When Mr.Reum revealed(on Steve Hoffman's forums) the "Smile" box confidentiality agreements, he stated that he had been asked to sign a similar agreement during the making of the "Pet Sounds Sessions" box. He did not(at the time) state that he was involved in the "Smile" box. Is he involved in the "Smile" box?

Well, golly gosh, let's think that one through: Peter's not only a notable collector of long-standing in the BB cosmos (Elliott's discography was, in essence, Peter's collection) and a darn nice guy but also a person of unimpeachable integrity, so I'm thinking he's not likely to drop such hints as he has just to big himself up or for the yucks.

My father was not an educated man, but he could make some penetrating insights, and one of them was this: "Can't tell someone something they don't want to hear". He's probably disappointed in me right now for even trying.

The term "Mr." is used since I don't know you personally. Would you deny that the most important information concerning the "Smile" box is known only to Mark Linett, Alan Boyd, Capitol Records executives & The Beach Boys? You still didn't answer the question: is Mr.Reum involved in the "Smile" box? His post on the Hoffman forum didn't say that he is involved in the "Smile" box. He only stated that he had been involved in the "Pet Sounds Sessions" project, that he had been asked to sign a confidentiality agreement for THAT project, and that participants in the "Smile" box had been asked to sign similar documents.

The really sad thing is Phil that since rumours began of the new box coming out you have been saying it wont come out! I have my own theories about your stance on this. Over at LMS there was a link posted to some of your bootleg work http://bigozine2.com/roio/?p=702. I am sure you have put heaps of work into it and are very proud of it but the truth is as Capitol records and the living members of the band have said it's coming out this year. You are wrong and have been wrong since you said it will never happen! It is happening and when it does all the money you spent on bootleg tapes will be worth very little.

As it turns out, Al Jardine started a hoax, which he has now retracted. “Smile” is not going to be released officially. The “Smile” that you get on Big O is the best “Smile” you’ll ever get.

Fortunately it's not a dream and Phil, who appears to be locked into some sort of alternate reality (but still able to post on the SmileySmile.net in this reality), doesn't seem to understand this.

I was hoping for some new information SOON to whet my SMiLE appetite - now I'm just hoping there's new information soon just so I don't have to read Phil's monotonous posts anymore.

Hey mods, this is honestly bordering on trolling, imo. He is pretty much pissing everyone off and wasting bandwidth doing it. There's a difference between SHARING your opinion and bothering the living hell out of everyone with it. So far he's told us his favorite type of pizza (and how he orders it) and shared probably 100 posts saying almost the exact same thing ("I want SMiLE to come out but it's probably not going to happen; if it does it will be far later than you SMiLE Dreamers think, Capitol and the Beach Boys are playing games with us, blah blah blah") but has avoided any sort of logical discussion.

Really makes me miss the good 'ol days:

Actually not. I order pizza online, and have the exact same ingredients every time(Green Peppers, Onions, Portabella Mushrooms, Black Olives & Tomatoes)

Sounds a lot like the pizza eaten by the Mrs. and me last night!  Amy's organic brand, popped it in the oven and it was ready in about 14 minutes.  Life is full of simple pleasures, and pizza is certainly one of them!  As for the SMiLE box set...it will indeed be a pleasure, but one of a decidedly more complex nature...and it will be around a lot longer than the average pizza!

Isn't it pretty much common knowledge that Peter has an incomparable collection of vintage Smile items (e.g., front cover slicks, back cover slick, etc.)?  I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that when you read the thanks/acknowledgements in the liner notes of The Smile Sessions, you will see Peter's name.  Any takers?
