This book is filled with great photographs. Definitely worth purchasing if you are interested in that. As far as historical information, you should start elsewhere. A nice addition to your Beach Boys library.

As I recall this was out as a coffee table book.  I kicked myself a hundred times for not buying it.  I haven't seen it since.

This is more of a musical critique and appreciation than a source of factual info. On that level, it suceeds as an enjoyable read that is colorfully written.  When it comes down to it, I can't really disagree with much of his views on their work either.
