Definitely worth purchasing if you are interested in that. As far as historical information, you should start elsewhere. A nice addition to your Beach Boys library.

On that level, it suceeds as an enjoyable read that is colorfully written. When it comes down to it, I can't really disagree with much of his views on their work either.
