C'mon Bri, just grow the beard again!!! You're 9/10ths of the way back to your Love You look (which is awesome).

Brian looks a lot better in this shot from the same day.

Where and when is this photo and that other one that looks like it. My guess is late 72 or 73? Its weird.

Those were shot in the spring of 1972.

Is this the same shirt he wore in the band picture from '81 (or '82) as seen in his autobiography. He was extremey heavy on that shot

Anyway, these were new to me:

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I get these guys confused; is this Maurice or Robin with Brian?
I'm pretty sure it's not Barry.

That's Mo. Great picture. Maurice told a story that he talked to Brian for an hour but he doesn't think Brian said a word the whole time. Brian was really in a bad way in Florida by the looks.

Check out this guy's youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/lcanhearmusic

Yes, I realize this is the picture thread. However, his videos labeled "RARE", which are Love You era demos, have some of the best SMiLE era pics of Brian I've ever seen. Tons of pictures of him in the studio. Where did these come from?

When is that from

I'm thinking, circa 1979.

It's Maurice - the picture was taken during the initial sessions for L. A. (Light Album) at Criteria in Miami, August 28th-September 1st 1978. Apparently he spoke to Brian for maybe 30 minutes, and Brian never said a word, just nodded and smiled now and then.

i was cleaning out an old email account and refound this from 5 years ago. i had uploaded it to the old male ego board. i don't know if this has been posted already, probably has, but i always liked this photo.

Anybody want to give a guess at who is sitting down on the end facing Dennis? My guess would be Billy.

It's my photo, taken in the Pacific Northwest, I believe, back in the days of driving hundreds of miles between gigs.  That's Ricky Fataar facing Dennis, and Jim Guercio just  entering the frame to Dennis' right

Another one of mine, taken in the parking lot of Criteria.  Maurice said he'd love to meet Brian, and asked where he was?  I took him to where Brian was getting some sun, introduced them, and asked if they minded if I grabbed a photo.  This one appeared in Rolling Stone, if I remember correctly; that's when I printed it in black & white.  There are a couple of shots, and they are all in color.

Dude seems to be wearing glasses. I've asked Billy if he knows.

BTW, if you right click and select 'view image', you can see a much bigger version.

The Brianista Prayer

Oh Brian
Thou Art In Hawthorne,
Harmonied Be Thy name
Your Kingdom Come,
Your Steak Well Done,
On Stage As It Is In Studio,
Give Us This Day, Our Shortenin' Bread
And Forgive Us Our Bootlegs,
As We Also Have Forgiven Our Wife And Managers,
And Lead Us Not Into Kokomo,
But Deliver Us From Mike Love.
