Well...f***. Dead link. Anyone got another way to view this interview?

EDIT: Think I found it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cEz4NTACDk

Not trying to downplay it, it's a cool interview and nice to hear an almost vintage interview from a non-Brian Beach Boy about SMiLE but he doesn't say anything earth-shattering. (Like, say, sing a few bars from a long-lost CIFOTM verse lyric or something.)

If not that, it could've been this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eR4en39sv5o

Same thing, nothing too surprising here really. Instead of saying "the music wasn't commercial/right for us" he does say "the group couldn't handle it, we just didn't have the energy." This kinda implies the band couldn't hack it but the way Carl answers here I think he's kinda "pulling a Brian" and just throwing out whatever generic answers he thinks will satisfy the reporter so they can move on.

When the topic of the tapes being burned is brought up someone accuses Jules Siegel of saying it but either way Carl says "that's just dumb and not the truth."

When asked, point blank, "was Brian still the producer of Smiley Smile" Carl says unambiguously and without hesitation "oh most definitely." I absolutely believe that, no doubt in my mind. It's got Brian's inventiveness all over it.
