I'm waiting for more reports, but I'm not surprised at all that they didn't "test run" any new songs. Why would they reveal anything when there is such an anticipation and demand to hear the new songs, and the Vegas shows next week which will follow a week of rehearsals and fine-tuning will be one of the unveilings? I'm glad nothing new was done, if not for the fact that you'd have half-assed cel phone videos circulating everywhere of these test runs and the surprise would be blown. Actually count me in the probably tiny number of fans who don't want to hear the new stuff from Vegas until it gets officially played on stage at the actual show, rather than rehearsals.

http://www.realrocknews.com/concert-review-brian-wilson-the-joint-at-the-tulsa-hard-rock-hotel-casino/
"Need proof that Wilson’s songwriting and back catalog as the creative driving force of The Beach Boys will be admired for decades like the work of The Beatles, Bob Dylan and Pink Floyd? Just go see Wilson in concert, and although the mellow man with the salt-and-pepper pompadour won’t be swinging from the rafters or igniting hot, blinding pyros, Wilson’s songs will speak for themselves."
"Watching and hearing Wilson stroll through his ground-breaking work in Tulsa, it quickly became apparent that the best of Wilson’s work easily matches the song-craft genius of fellow Americans Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder. Chord for chord, verse for verse, one would be hard pressed to find better U.S. musical treasures than”Heroes and Villains,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” and “God Only Knows.” Those songs have lived and touched so many lives for 50 years. My cash says that Wilson’s music will last another five decades … and then some."

Still, expected wobbly 21st-century Brian Wilson vocals...BUT, at least it doesn't sound any worse. "God Only Knows" has never been much of a live vocal highlight for Brian though...would love to see any other clips...

If the Vegas show were going out live or something, then it would make more sense to make it a big "reveal" as far as new songs. But it's being taped and aired at some point next year. For all we know, we'll see the PBS "Soundstage" episode after the album is released and/or after we've heard songs from the album in some form or another.
The only thing we'll see from the show in the next few months is the usual YouTube fare, which would be the same thing we'd get from Tulsa. I suppose more people might be in Vegas to capture cell phone videos, and there might be more press/media there.
But unless I'm at the show in question, it doesn't strike me as a bigger deal to simply read that songs were unveiled on December 12th in Las Vegas versus December 4th in Tulsa.
I think Brian may well have been waiting for a big unveiling though, so he may see the Vegas show as a big unveiling from the performer point of view. Many artists test run "new" songs in concert well before they release them (and often then they're not really testing the song as if the audience at the show will be deciding whether the song makes it on the album). But it does appear Brian doesn't want to go this route. I think it would have been cool to hear a new song or two in the last year at a random show. This new album isn't "Smile", it wouldn't have been a big deal to let out a song or two early.

Wobbly?
Yes, he may have faltered on a few of the high notes, but don't see him teetering on a stepladder on delivery whatsoever. Compared to 15BO, Love You, and the shouty period, I'd say he's doing vey well indeed.
