No, I'm not - the blurb on the venue's site stated that Brian would be performing tracks from his forthcoming album.
Ok, where? Post a link. Nobody mentioned it on this thread.

Here's a cache of the original advertisement on their website.

I think AGD has just confused it with Vegas. Otherwise people would've brought it up sooner in this thread. I was hoping, but figured it was probably just a warmup. Being freakin' TULSA and all. Hardly where you premiere the good stuff.
Anyway, I hope he enjoys his split sides and extracts maximum entertainment value from hypothetical lawsuits... I think i'll have more fun at the Venetian tho!

Just a silly mistake. Shame that the gloating and threats of lawsuit weren't warranted though...those are fun.

Although that's the original advertisement, I think what AGD was reffering to was the blurb that was on this page:
http://tickets.hardrockcasinotulsa.com
/. It's no longer there because the event already passed, and the Google cache of the page has already been updated.
On second thought, maybe not:

Now, because I'm a picky SOB, if I'd been daft enough to fly over and make the gig, I'd be suing the collective ass of the venue for lying in the write up. Tracks from his new album ? I don't see any. Do you ?
False advertising, sirrah. False advertising, and I will have satisfaction.
It's a solid GH set, but the first show in the
NPP
tour ? My sides, they are splitting.
Will you be daft enough to fly over for the Vegas show?

AGD's just wrong. Someone would've posted about the ad here if that were the case, not the day after the show. Not if it was up for weeks!

Only living about a 7 hour drive away, I have been monitoring the ads and tickets for some time for Tulsa. I never saw anything about new songs being performed in Tulsa. I was hoping to make it anyway, but I had a scheduling conflict. I'm so depressed I missed Ike and that great show, as ever since I saw him with the Four Freshman about 8 years ago, I thought he would be perfect for Brian's band, and now he's there, hopefully on a regular basis. I can't make Vegas but am hoping for shows next year. New songs in Vegas - that's advertised - and I'm really looking forward to hearing about it from the people who can make it.

I did not find the ad but I found that when selecting seats row "A" is located closest to the stage and row "Z" would be farthest away.

The chain of events went like this:
Bgas made some remark on another thread, to which AGD responded that he would never respond to another Bgas post again. A few hours after that Bgas began this thread, and a half hour after that AGD responded to it. As far I know, no advertisements were linked.

To muddy the waters more, an earlier Brian show was advertised as having songs from the new album being premiered. Never happened.

OK, time to 'fess up - looks like I've made a bigger ass of myself than is usual by misremembering the wrong press release. Apologies to one and all, no excuse except my accustomed inflexibility. Geez, what a tool...

From the pictures, it looks like Al wasn't at this particular show.
The pattern after the two UK shows seems to be that Al makes it to the California gigs, and not necessarily the others (of which there have only been a few). The upcoming Vegas gig is of course an exception, though I figure he's there because it's a special TV shoot.
I would guess Al is either doing these shows on his own dime, or they pick up his travel expenses but only within California.
As for the "advertising" of shows as far as setlist, you *have* to go into a show knowing the setlist is pretty much like the weather, it's "subject to change." I'm a bit surprised, regardless of any advertising, that they didn't test-run something at the Tulsa show since they seemingly will be doing some new stuff at the Vegas show eight days later.
I went to a "Family & Friends" show in 2000 where they advertised that the show would feature BB songs as well as "Wilson sisters" songs. Of course, the Wilson sisters did nothing from their own catalog, as was the case with every show they did with Al as far as I know.
