Slooooooooooooop John Bee Can't believe "That's Not Me" was voted off already, nor can I believe so many votes for "You Still Believe In Me" and "I Just Wasn't Made For These Times" in the last few rounds, those are by far my two favorite songs on the album.  I'm no expert and I realize it doesn't guarantee a good song, but I don't know if Brian ever wrote anything more technically complex and interesting as the stuff that's going on in "These Times" before or after. |

"Here Today" has a great set of lyrics - not sure what's not to like about them.
Right now you think that she's perfection,
this time is really an exception,
well you know...I hate to be a downer,
but I'm the guy she left before you found her.
She made me feel so bad She made my heart feel sad She made my days go wrong and made my nights so long not so great. I like those, too. Haven't you ever been in that situation? Rhyme scheme is a bit simple....but that's exactly what it feels like. Exactly. I'd say those four lines are about as accurate a description of heartache/break as has ever been put to song. |
