I predict that Wild Honey (live, New Jersey, 1972) is gonna be one of the standout tracks.

I'm sure others who agree…!   Grin

I heard the complete live version, with Blondie, once. I believe it was the St. John's University 1972 show. It was a fair audience recording, but man, a great performance. They rocked!

I've heard the un-remastered track in rather poor quality and it still rocked pretty hard. Can't wait for that one!

While I'm sure this alternate version is nice, I never understood the complaints of the album version being "too short". I always thought it was perfect as is and have listened to it on repeat many a time.

Has anybody actually complained about "Meant for You" being too short?

"Life is like the Beach Boys song 'Meant For You', too short!"

Alternate take from Forrest Gump.

The version from New Jersey is great performance by the band, they really nail it. It makes the other live songs very promising.

Just a quick note:

The box set (obviously) specifies that the live Wild Honey version was recorded in New Jersey -- not New York where St. John's University is located (and where that noted audience boot is from). The two Passaic, NJ shows in November of '72 were professionally recorded for the live album, so this seems to be where the new box set recording is sourced from. Smiley

Also, if it's the same version that I heard many years ago from the unreleased, single-disc acetate version of Concert, it's a smoker -- with these wild, random synth/keyboard shots that make it sound like something out of Star Wars (and assuming that they're not mixed out)! Very energetic performance!

Sounds promising! Can't wait Smiley

Pretty annoying that the release date still says September 2 on Amazon.co.uk..

A week after the US release. That's going to be rough.

Yeah, so it will arrive the weekend before it's actually released. Lovely lovely pre-ordering.

Not long now, is it?

There's some fake torrents now.

If you want to grab it if it leaks, best pet for anybody curious would be to go to Piratebay for legitimate torrents and the Exystence blog for direct uploads. It would more than likely end up at one of those places immediately after leaking somewhere else (if it doesn't leak there first).

Keep in mind that most album leaks are for new albums from established artists. Those often leak months to weeks before the release date. But re-releases and boxed set material is lucky to leak a few days before retail, if at all.

How does ordering from Amazon.de work?

When I go to checkout the item only costs EUR 68,08 which is $90.66 with shipping and packaging.......am I doing something wrong?

Probably not if you live in the States - the VAT is a pretty big hunk of tax that is deducted  from your purchase
