Okay. They need to lower the US price already, I already own more than half of this and Pikmin 3 is a much better deal then spending $145 on the same tracks again.

$80-$100 yes. Anything more, maybe.

Ill probably grab the 20 real rarities on iTunes and call it a day.

After all, Amazon IS the only place in the US that will EVER carry it, of course.

Well, sure... but to be honest there's not many places frickin' left!!  They just closed the Barnes and Noble in my area.  Borders is long gone and Tower Records... God rest its soul...

This will probably be in Best Buys... for awhile anyway.  It is the Beach Boys... so they'll probably have it for a bit.  But the sad reality is for most stuff nowadays... Amazon is the best bet to get anything that isn't Kids Bop, in a timely fashion.

Just saying.

It's f*****g depressing

In 10 years we'll be buying everything online.

According to someone who would know.

Seriously, there was a Beach Boys Love You condom?!  Amazing.

Excellent informed and detailed review. For the first one out of the box, that is an auspicious beginning, indeed. Wonderful.

Really looking forward to taking that one last ride...

WHERE THE HEYHEY IS EVERYBODY WANTS TO LIVE (AND OTHER ADULT/CHILD STUFFS)?!

I've been listening to a lot of Adult/Child stuff lately and this comment still stands.

Is it possible that they're saving this material to do an actual album release?
It seems a good explanation for its total absence.

To be fair, that review could have been written by any fan before hearing the boxset!  LOL

I look upon it as an overview rather than a review…would love to have had more information on the difference between these new new versions of some songs and the versions we know and love; on the mood, tone, structure of the songs that we know nothing of… describing things as "cool" or 'psychedelic" tells us nothing, actually.  But hey-ho… if it helps sell copies and get our fave band into the charts, that's good.

Definitely more interested in Susie Cincinatti now. Have always had a love-hate relationship with that song. Hearing that this mix is "fully realized" has me intrigued.

Is this extra-verse "Rock and Roll Music" the "hot mix"? I've been wanting to hear that thing for a while...

It's a new 2012 mix, apparently - but it has the extra verse that hot mix has. It might be a recreation of it if the Hot Mix has gone missing or something.

Yes, it's pretty much a review of the press release and tracklisting.
You listen to a 7.5 hour box and have nothing new to say?
Nothing on the 65 unreleased tracks to comment on?
Thanks for publishing that, Examiner.

You're really a Beach Boys obsessive when you see David's post as "Desper look at "(Wouldn't It Be Nice To) Live Again".

That's exactly what I did and possibly furrowed my brow in disappointment when I didn't see a huge block of text about panning and spatiality.

My post in no way is a Desper look at anything.  Only Steve Desper can write about what he did when he was there.  My post is my take on what I hear.  Not sure how anything else can be possible derived from it…that's a bit of a reach.
