Then there is this one from Keith Moon's birthday bash in LA, August 23, 1974:

Note that John Lennon was not at that party either, but he was definitely in New York that weekend and it was the weekend when he claimed to have seen a UFO over New York. More photos of Keith Moon's bash here: http://smileysmile.net/board/index.php/topic,14544.0.html

I never knew that any pictures of Brian from 1974-1975 existed. I thought that was his "lost" period? If anyone has any (besides this picture, obv.) I'd love to see them!

Seeing these pictures reminds me of that "lost" period, too, when Brian was supposedly lying in bed all the time.  Is the lying-in-bed thing actually a myth?

I think I remember Danny Hutton said one time that Brian was in bed all day because he partied all night.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Was gonna mention the August '74 picture with Jim Pewter on KRTH radio L.A. but AGD beat me to it. He looks the same as the picture at the top of the thread and the one with Keith Moon.

I think it was in Mickey Dolenz' book where he said he saw Brian and Lennon at the same party in '74 in Malibu. Probably the same party that May Pang talks about in her book (she introduced Brian to Lennon) and that Billy Hinsche has confirmed.

Lennon went back to New York at the end of January '75. I still think the picture at the top of the thread is from '74. Just because Lennon isn't in the picture doesn't mean he wasn't there (or was).

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

OK all you trivia hounds...here's a tidbit I bet you never noticed before. If you watch the Beach Boys An American Band and fast forward to the very last shot as the band walks on stage where the info text starts, you can clearly see oneHarry Nilsson in a black leather jacket up in the scaffolding rightbehind the band. It is the mid 80's Harry alright. Confirmed by the man himself as recounted in the soon to be released biography.

You've not seen the shot of Brian w/Jim Pewter from 1974 ? In both of the Leaf books. Middle image on page:

... and yes, it's reversed.  Grin

Then there is this relatively unknown shot of Brian ...

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!

Hey Little Tomboy is creepy. Banging women by the pool is fun and conjures up warm summer thoughts a Beach Boys song should.

Yeah, I'd definitely call it p*ssy Cats era Harry, as it looks exactly like all the photos I've seen of him at the start of his fall. The year also chimes for Van Dyke's look in the early 70's - mustache, although disappointingly not dressed as a cowboy. But yeah, it's possibly easier to date this photo by looking at Harry photos rather than Brian photos, because the former are possibly more abundant? Dude was a, er, socialite...

'73 - early '74??

But his love of blue cheese dip is well documented.
