Some of the videos do use 60's and 70's film clips, but it's all mixed up.  Maybe Donny will see this and explain how he is doing them
and tell us how he is sourcing the clips.  Some of them are San Francisco/Bay Area.  They have live stuff as well.

And John, I check-in here all the time.  I've just not been posting much.  Life has thrown me some curves lately.  That's life.

I'm okay, tho.  Was over here this morning checking to see if the new Beatles Survivor Game had started up yet.

It has.  You still have time to get in your first pick to off.  pixletwin will be counting votes tomorrow, so hurry up!

Ha. I'm not an "eliminate the tracks" person at all. Kudos to pixletwin and it's great to see it doing well but I'll pass if you don't mind. Grin

Hope life takes it easy on you in future. It seems to have smiled kindly on Billy of late and that's very cool. :=)

Genesis - Selling England by the Pound

The only Genesis album I need to know. An absolute gem.

I've been listening (and jigging along) to jiggy22's take on Still Cruisin':

Can't beat Scott G. Lots more goodies where that came from...

I've been exploring the Peter Gabriel era this summer.  I liked all the albums, but to me, Selling Englad by the Pound really stands out.  I think I might like it because Steve Hackett's guitar work is so good throughout.

Next, I'm moving onto the four man lineup of Collins, Rutherford, Banks, and Hackett.

Giving this a first-time listen.

I've got this bookmarked for future listening, briefly putting aside our disagreement about wonderful blue cheese.

As for me, right now I'm listening to an Anton Bruckner symphony as I work:

Well, if you're taking my suggestions, I guess I can ignore our disagreement for now...

Hey, didn't you enjoy listening to Protomartyr awhile back? Either way, they have a new song that's pretty good:

Adult Swim does these free singles on a weekly basis I think; might be a new way to discover music for some of you guys...

I'm always on the look-out for musical suggestions, either here or across the road.

Yes, I enjoyed The Agent Intellect----and this one sounds good too. Thank you!

I found this curious album today, a combination of Tuvan (Central Asian) traditional music and Western pop:

Hey, Steg! It's been a while. I remember now----you were/are a Mike fan.

Yes, I can hear it too. Nice song, as it happens. A whole bunch of others think the same, apparently. Grin

I love the interplay of the male and female singers.

Maybe you know their earlier stuff, u-m. I checked out its predecessor, Feast of Love, but it didn't really add anything.

Their debut album, Dark World, makes quite a contrast with the more subdued WHM. And wonderful stuff it is too:

By the way, u-m, congratulations on turning 21 today!!!! Banana

I don't think I've mentioned this band before, but I've heard of them.
This is certainly something I can listen to. Thanks for the recommendation!

And thank you—in the States it's not quite the 15th, but soon... and in the States, being 21 gives you the legal privileges of obtaining certain intoxicating substances! wooo

Carl Nielsen's magnificent evocation of a bustling marketplace in Isfahan in what was then (1919) Persia:

I was very Impressed with Barry Gibb's live rehearsal's for his new album last night.

Did any one else watch?

I fell in love with Star Crossed Lovers straight away.

How is possible for someone of his long standing in the music business to be so nervous, though? I suppose nerves are a good thing in a way, no chance of'phoning in a performance.

The whole thing played out beautifully.
