Crazy - Patsy Cline

I love her version, but the best ever is Willie Nelson's own on "Storytellers"

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Joe Cocker "With A Little Help From My Friends".  What a fantastic album.  At one time, Joe Cocker was one of the greatest enterpreters in rock music.

The Phil Spector Back To Mono box set (I looooove this box set. One flaw: where's I Can Hear Music?).

The song I'm listening to on Back to Mono: 'Uptown' by The Crystals.

VIVA LA MONO! Brian and Spector had the right idea.

Merry Christmas, Baby - The Beach Boys

....god I wish this song had more ...texture. Like the Little Saint Nick single. Throw some glock and sleighbells or somethin' on there. Ah well, great song either way.

"My baby she told me she don't wanna hold me and kiss my lips anymore"  (BW: Nuh uh!)

Because I'm beginning to compile my initial thoughts on the 2006 Top 15 discs, a lot of things, one at a time, over and over: Dylan's Modern Times, Voxtrot's Mothers, Sisters, Daughters and Wives, Joanna Newsom's Ys, Half-Handed Cloud's Halos & Lassos, and the albums by Bonnie Prince Billy, Mountain Goats, Elf Power, Belles of Skin City, Fred Thomas, Matthew Friedberger, Fiery Furnaces, Theater Fire, Decemberists (hated it), and a billion others. My head is swimming.

The original stereo mix of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' ".  I wish there was an all stereo version of "Back To Mono"!

Doesn't get much better than that!

I'm watching/listening to The Band's "The Last Waltz". I especially like Bob Dylan's rocking performance of "Baby Let Me Follow You Down".

AIR - Biological

Ive been a fan of AIR before i became a fan of the BB's. I used to read interviews where theyd say BW/BB's were a huge influence and it wasnt until i listened to the BB's that i realised how much of an influence they actually are on AIR.

Biological:

The outro (from 3:59 onwards) is awesome!

I bet you know this, but Remember samples Do It Again too. I used to love Air, can't think why I stopped listening to them.

Have been listening to some mad bastards mashup of The Punch Drunk Love OST with Harry Nilsson songs tonight. It works.... surprisingly well! listen here http://kristiangoddard.blogspot.com/2011/12/punch-drunk-nilsson.html

Classic Country . At the moment, it's playing Reba McEntire "You Lie" which I guess is the name of the song.  It's pretty damn brilliant whatever it's called.  It's one of those songs where you expect the melody to rise up a little bit, but instead she sings it about an octave above where you think it's going, and you get goosebumps.

HOLD THE HORSES!

It just changed and now it's playing Merle Haggard - It's all in the movies.

I'm going to try to listen to the whole song without trying to commit suicide this time.

How the hell can people make a melody, and a minor key sound like death?  It's so pretty, but so sad at the same time.  I saw him live in concert a couple years ago.  He's equally great live.
