Take the intro of Amusement Parks U.S.A., I have never heard the percussion and organmelody on the mono mix. The stereo mix takes the song to a new level. And when I listen to the mono mix now, I DO hear those parts.

It's funny you say that, because the instrumental track sounds pretty 'locked' in mono in the center.

This probably means nothing, but at least if no one realized yet and might want to check it out:
Spotify added the Surf's Up remastered version on The Beach Boys albums, not the other ones yet (well this one ain't from the two-fers and it has the white thing on the side, so i guess it pretty much says it all).
But they added the albums Surfin' Safari, Surfin' USA, All Summer Long (doesn't have the white side), Wild Honey, Friends, 20/20, Love You, Light Album and Beach Boys 1985. All separately without no bonus or remastered stick or anything.
I don't know, since Spotify (like other legal websites that streams music) deals with labels(or someone who represents) to get the approval to put online such and such albums, i thought this could be some kind of hint, but i'm not getting any hopes up.

Don't see them on my version of Spotify.

Unless they add rarities, alternate takes or new stereo mixes, I don't see much need for the reissuing of the post-Wild Honey albums. The 70s twofers sound really good IMO.

I don't think the (slight, in my mind) improvement would warrant me purchasing those titles again if they were only straight issues of the albums.

All roads lead to Kokomo. Exhaustive research in time travel has conclusively proven that there is no alternate universe WITHOUT Kokomo. It would've happened regardless.

I'm hoping they use the opportunity to include the 'hot mix' (or a new equivalent mix) of 15 big ones. I have nothing whatsoever that suggests this will actually happen except that some people on this thread seem to think the 15 BO songs in the 50 BO set seemed to have a big improvement in sound quality. Just wishful thinking but it would provide an extra justification to buy one of the stereo only albums

Love that album: it was the first studio album I bought concurrent to its release, in 1976, though at the time I didn't know that. The first one I went out and bought cos I'd heard there was a new album out was LA.
Both will, I sincerely hope, be among the second trench of remastered reissues.

Just heard the ad for 50 Big Ones play in the other room. It's a bit weird to hear Good Vibrations on the telly without being informed that if I pay cash, they'll slash the prices.

The remasters are now on Australian Spotify.
Well, I'm pretty easy to please but I have to say I'm not over the moon with the use of digital reverb, you really can hear the difference and I'm not anywhere near an audiophile, it sounds a lot like the verb I use on my own music in Pro Tools. The stereo mixes are very cool to hear but I think I'm going to stick with the 2001 remasters and just load up Spotify if i want to hear the stereo mixes. Mono for life.
