Nice little feature.
And, wow, what I'd give to hear a 70-year-old rapping Brian.

Clearly, Brian considers GETTING IN OVER MY HEAD to be the SWEET INSANITY redux.

I bet he does - for the same reason he thinks people recognise him for his 14 dogs rather than the fact he's Brian sodding Wilson, or says, 'I'm not a genius, just a hard working guy', I guess.

I'm trying to imagine Brian walking 14 dogs around L.A. Or anywhere for that matter. Or anybody walking 14 dogs. I try to walk 2 and the leashes get tangled.
We need a picture of this.

Maybe he could hook them up to The Little St. Nick and have them pull him around LA husky style.

I agree. Even the most hardcore Beatles fan will admit that at least The Beach Boys' group harmonies were better than The Beatles'. 'Hey Brian... how's things?' And I'm like 'How the heck do they recognise me? Oh, yeah, maybe it's the 14 dogs.' LOL.

I know several who wouldn't. Hardcore Beatles fans are like hardcore religious nuts IMO. They are incredulous that the whole world doesn't think as they do, and get very threatened / defensive when challenged. I know of no other fan base with that attitude. Not all of them obviously. There are a few decent Beatles fans out there I'm sure.

Well, in a way Gettin' In Over My Head was the released version of Sweet Insanity (or Sweet Conspiracy as the lyrics of Rainbow Eyes re-wrote it). Plus, Spirit of Rock and Roll and Country Feeling have both turned up on compilations. And the remainder of the tracks that weren't re-recorded should stay in the vaults, unreleased, where they belong. I mean, some of the tracks that were re-recorded for Gettin' In Over My Head were bad enough.

We don't know what the hell's going on. Maybe Brian wouldn't re-record Smile if he couldnt' finish Sweet Insanity as well. He might have insisted on it. Maybe that's why several have popped up, he re-recorded the entire album (AGAIN).

I don't believe brian said it — Brian can be hard to understand, and the interviewer or transcriber of the audio probably assumed he said "Sweet Insanity" — but it was more likely something like this: "I couldn't believe the standing ovation I received when I re-recorded Smile — it was just insanity."
