mlb.com usually streams only the game, not pre-game, but who knows? I did watch the Dodger telecast last night. On their pre-game show last night, they did a promo for the 4-10 home opener and stated that the Beach Boys would join them on-set for an interview during the pregame show (12:00 PDT hour) and that they would be broadcasting their performance (they did not say if it would be the entire performance or just the anthem.) Then they said "here is a taste of what you can expect from the Beach Boys" and they showed about the first 1 minute of the new "Do it Again" video. Looks real good in HD by the way. So for local Angelenos, set your DVR for Fox Sports Prime Ticket for 12:00 on April 10.

Man, I am bummed that there's been no news on the 7/10 Denver tour date since the ticket sale date changed to TBA about 6 weeks ago.

Everyone is getting their shorts in a tangle over this for possibly no really good reason - just re-read the original article, and it clearly says
mini
-concert. Maybe 5 songs, I'm thinking.

5 songs?
Story I read said 1 plus anthem.
Opening Day at Dodger Stadium
As part of the Dodgers’ Opening Day festivities and to launch this season-long partnership, The Beach Boys will perform a song and sing the national anthem on the field at Dodger Stadium. Dodger fans will enjoy The Beach Boys’ greatest hits, which will be played exclusively throughout the ballpark, as well as a video feature on the band’s 50th Anniversary reunion and tour.

What's the deal with the Stateline, NV date? It says On Sale: TBD, and I can't find anything on the venue's site about it. But I did find people are selling tickets for that show on resale sites....
Did I miss out or did they not go on sale yet and people are just selling tickets they are buying in the future?

See previous 10 pages or so of intermittent complaining about this. It's that whole mini leg in the middle of July that is still unconfirmed and not for sale. I contacted the Harvey's people a while back and they said that the BB people asked them to keep it off of their site until the date was confirmed. I asked her if she thought it was going to be cancelled and she said that she did not think so but didn't really know. I realllllly really hope whatever is standing in the way gets resolved.
As for the tickets that are on the reseller sites, I imagine those are not legit.

Thanks for responding. I've read parts of the thread but must've missed those posts. Seems strange they'd post it on the official BB site without actually having confirmed the show.
I ended up getting 2 of the cheapest VIP packages for the Irvine show, since my uncle wants to go down and visit with the other Hawthorne High graduates who are attending.

Maybe there's some shuffling going on to accommodate some Uk gigs? For sure the US already has more dates than it can handle

There's no way they'll play five songs. Maybe two.

I thought one of the press release things specifically said that it would be the Star Spangled Banner and then "Fun Fun Fun".
Are they actually bringing in the full live band for this? In my mind's eye, I see them doing the anthem acapella, and then miming along to about 30 seconds of "Fun Fun Fun" while the network cuts to commercial.

While we're at it...I could actually see them miming to a pre-recorded track of them singing the National Anthem. Isnt' that how most people do it these days? Seems to be a possible technique for a lot of the bigger (and older stars) as a way to ensure a 100% spot on performance right at that moment. There was that picture of them all gathered, rehearsing the song---probably didn't take much to flip on the record button while they rehearsed. We'll see...

There's a beautiful "their hearts were full of spring" from a Reagan event in 1985 (?). They voice over a pre-recorded track. It sounds thick and full, while making them comfortable.

Do it like this and they would be fine.

Auditions for singing the anthem during the season were held Mar 29 and had to be acapella. I would be sorry if one of the best vocal groups in history would feel the need to have a backing tape.
Storys all point to one song and the anthem. Forget 5 songs.

That's exactly how I pictured it sounding when I heard they were doing it.
I got to see the Doobie Brothers perform it at an A's vs. Yankees game and that's pretty much how they did it.

It's a possibility. Aretha Franklin needed such a backup tape when she performed the Anthem for President Obama some years back. It has nothing to do with ability but more as a safety net. These are 70 year old dudes and depending on how difficult they've made the arrangement for the song---they can obviously do it live with no issue but if they're feeling unsure, they can have the pre-recorded track under them as a foundation to their live vocal.

Ugh, usually I'm free around that time but I'm taking a tour of my college's sustainability program for my science lab.
The trade off though is that it takes place of the usual lab time meaning I can sleep in tomorrow!

Do you think they had to audition ? Would be neat if they did it like when they had to for Al's mom singing "Their hearts..." but I kinda can't see them having to do that now

Okay, given that there's still no word on any Australian dates... Anyone from down here planning on heading over to one of the Japan shows? I'm thinking about it, but it'll be my first time in the country, and I could use a bit of a support group!

Hey, it's something I have thought about. What's an 11 hour flight huh.
If I do it would be great to catch up with any other visiting or Japanese fans.
