Slim Shady is obviously bitter about all this, when apparently it's England's fault anyway.

I can't deny that

By the way I'm in Ireland, they have no reason to not play here

I'm seeing van Morrison, Paul Simon, Tom petty all this summer

World tour my ass

It's hardly unreasonable for people to be disappointed that the band won't play the UK when they are playing sixty shows, give or take, in the US, which only has four times the population of the UK.

UK has 62 million. US has 311 million. That's more than five times the population.

You are correct. Doesn't alter my point, though.

Man, I am f*cking angry today. I picked the wrong week to quit smoking.

But if you did, you could possibly afford the trip to Europe...

I'm thinking about collecting donations to support Brits with sh...y jobs and lives so they can see this reunion.

I'm in for two cents!

In an attempt to get this back on topic...seeing Al last week at the Roxy really got me pretty excited about this tour.  He was really in good voice and it convinced me I couldn't just see one show.

Nice. Some of us would be happy for the chance to see just one show.

Understood and I truly sympathize. There is also nothing I can do about it in this thread

A lot of us would travel if we got a little info about future plans but no as usual Brian and the beach boys camps choose to say nothing

I decided to see Brian in Manchester, two weeks later he announced a last minute Dublin show, I was fine with that because 2 shows is better than than none. This summer though I don't have that luxury with a full time job and other commitments

I hate complaining but things are looking bleak on the uk tour front, it's an easy decision, the uk tour is definitely happening at a later date or not at all. All this anger and confusion is not needed

Bit off of them not to be performing in the UK... I can't afford to travel abroad so if they don't come here i don't get to see 'em - sure a lot of people are in the same boat (or not in the boat/plane as the case may be...)

I really feel the Beach Boys will play in Britain this year.No way the fans there are going to get screwed out of this one.The band knows how important those people are to them. When they were getting crapped on over here they were revered and RESPECTED there. And I think maybe someone on this site knows more but cannot give it up.This whole thing about a tour wrap-up in August  sounds dubious at best. They probably didn't think the response would be so huge.Things can be changed.Money talks but there's more to it than that, maybe.

Is there a Phil Cohen Award for most nauseating poster?  Is it competitive or do we just agree a winner?

Least Phil was friendly when he posted his doom predictions.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

That's not black humour. That's you being smug and condescending because you have more money than me. And believe me, I'd have quit smoking a long time ago if I could have, so thanks for the understanding there.

I understand that there is a language barrier of sorts (you're from Switzerland, right?) and what's droll in your native tongue doesn't come across well written down in English, but you should have thought about posting that.

But let's move on. This isn't productive.

...because you have more money than me.

I wrote a lot of rubbish, but certainly not that!
Sorry if it came over like that.

Perhaps not in so many words, but…

Didn't know that so many of you have to gnaw on the hunger cloth.

And now, the Jaspy-show is over…

In an attempt to get this back on topic...seeing Al last week at the Roxy really got me pretty excited about this tour.  He was really in good voice and it convinced me I couldn't just see one show.  I'll be in the third row at the Hollywood Bowl and in row 14 at the Red Rock in Las Vegas.  Anybody here ever been to that venue or heard anything about that venue?  Looks nice, I guess it is fairly new?

My wife and I have 2 tickets for Red Rock. Section 4 Row F. Since it's just down the road from us (Charleston) maybe we'll go down before the event and check it out. I believe it's a Station Casino which means it's a local's casino not on the strip or downtown. I'll let you know and maybe we'll meet up before or after the show (already meeting several Facebook friends there).

Yeah, I understand it is about 10 minutes off the strip. Apparently built to host some big concerts, seating capacity at 8800.

The ticketprice and hoopla would suggest it should be a nice length (hopefully in the two-hour range). But these guys are older these days, and it's a grueling tour. But they have a huge band carrying a lot of the weight, and Brian has done pretty lengthy shows over the last decade, and I think the Mike/Bruce shows have sometimes been longer than the usual.

I certainly would be disappointed if we didn't get at least 90 or more minutes, and at least 30 or so songs.

There is no way they won't do Barbara Ann. I am fine with it but besides that and Sloop John B please no cover songs, especially something like "Rock & Roll Music" or "Surf City". I could live with "Their Hearts Were Full of Spring" though.

I'm not sure about "Surf city". I'd love to hear Brian playing it, beside it is one of his 4 no. 1 hits. But on the otehr hand I don't want any covers but the ones that can't be overlooked like Sloop

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.
