Anyone else hear this version? Anyone else nearly sh*t themselves? Any explanation as to what that is, if it was actually part of the original recording or was something someone did later?
Good lord, I'm having a heart attack. Scared the bajeezus out of me.

It's on Disc 4 of the Sea of Tunes Beach Boys Party! Sessions Stereo Mix.
What do you mean "version". I have an original Party box set and it's on there. To the best of my knowledge, this anomaly is on ALL of the discs. It's too bad really. Takes away from an otherwise flawless stereo mix of the album.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Any story as to what in the hell it is? I mean was this something a bootlegger did? Frickin' o god. Whoever created the dreaded b**tl*g surely needs to pay my hospital bill.
Also, isn't the Hawthorne take in stereo?

What's with all the teenage girly dramatics? How old are you?

Sitting. Enjoying a nice, calm Beach Boys song. The track is quiet. Suddenly, out of the left channel, a child screaming "KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL"
A tad unsettling if you're not expecting it, y'know?
Also, way to be sexist, Michael.

Yes it is. It's unexpected and annoying. It's probably the bootlegger's kid (sounds Asian) yelling into an open microphone and somebody didn't realize the recorder was switched on to "record". Obviously not very good quality control as I think that "edit" could have been corrected if the bootlegger had taken the time to play it back and realize the obvious mistake.
Whenever I want to listen to the Party! album, I pull this disc out. Superb audio quality (with exception to the kid's brief yelling).

I have a vague memory of this...I think I blocked it out of my mind immediately after I heard it, because I had forgotten about it completely! Gonna try to find it in my collection...

The Party SOT is one of the best things I have, I listen more to those sessions than the actual album. Beautiful, fly-on-the-wall material and a glimpse into how much of a pain that group of guys could be together in the studio but how great the music sounded when they actually got down to playing it.
And that child's voice freaked me out many times when I forgot where it was as I was listening with headphones. I'd also like to know who or what did that...

I really want to hear this for some reason.
It's not on YouTube as far as I can tell. You would think that something like this would have been talked about more often on here, but this is the first time I've read about it.

I just heard it. That was...weird.
The kid actually sounded upset. It kind of makes you wonder what was going on in that house.

Just listened to it...I do remember it now...it doesn't sound like an asian kid though...and the kid sounds no older than 3. Weird stuff.

What a weird thing to show up on a bootleg, will watch out for this if I ever get into SOT collecting.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Sure I can; but what of the ones that don't? A youtube link would be ever so helpful. and it's
SO
much easier to listen on youtube than dig thru umpteen hundred CDs( that I don't think I ever listened to in the first place)

Naw, it ain't funny at all. It ruins a good song. Sonically the best version of the Party album to date and it f**cked up the song. Maybe a couple of you Smile-o-Philes that have been editing Smile tracks for forever and a day could fix
this.
