No mention of Mike Kawalski yet, who was with the band for quite awhile (since 1968?). Burrrrrrrrrnnnnn!
And if Mike Meros was still around, he and Darian could trade off nicely on the keys.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Yeah, Elmo Peeler on the keys! 'Member him in the 70's?

Wasn't alive then, but I've seen him in bits of footage. He's in the Largo video. Carli Munoz and Billy Hinsche were also on keys around that time. The Tornadoes on horns. Later in '77 they had Gary Griffin and "the Professor" Ron Altbach on keys.

Jeff
No. I want at least one song from
Love You
.
Well, I'm pretty sure Brian and his band performed Ding Dang at that QVC "
performance
" and I have heard a recording from a show at the RFH in the early/mid 2000's performing the Night was so Young; so it's happen before....and Jeff was clearly audio-able
And have you noticed how it hasn't been heard since?
I honestly don't think that's the case...I mean, right after they performed some LY material, did Jeff just say "that's it, no more Love You crap or me and my falsetto are going to
Camp Jardine.
" I mean, during those shows, I think that's the shows when he was taking request, from the Blueboard (i think?) thus playing things like Friends, Melt Away, You're So Good to Me, etc....so I feel like those were just a couple of shows they played those rarities and then shoved them away....let alone playing and real rarities from the 70s...I could see Brian and Jeff right now, "Well Jeff, if you don't wanna play some Love You shite, we can always play some Hey Little Tomboy or re-record some Adult Child material....." Jeff: "Fine, I'll falsetto on the Night was So Young, but only for a couple nights...."
Right, like it's such a bad song...he wasn't asking him to sing Solar System or JOhnny Carson....I've heard Jeff can be a
real anus
sometimes.

It's no big surprise that the 1967-now stuff is pretty much absent from Brian's setlists. Apparently Jeff dictates the setlist more than we think.
And before the white knights come in, yes, I know exactly every song that Brian has played live in concert. So no defense necessary.

Yep! Munoz, Peeler, Figueroa, and Hinsche were all on the road together at about the same time. And Guercio on bass for awhile too. My favorite era as a fan!

1977 was the year they would play an extended Feel Flows in concert. The Largo gig has a version going for almost 10 minutes. It's awesome.

I'd include Von Mertens and/or Probyn with some horns, the music is better for it.

The
almost 10 minute live version
of Feel Flows I have on my ipod sounds like a drunken Carl Wilson on lead.

Yeah, all three of the Wilsons were quite out of it in Largo. Dennis was the most together of the three of them, though. Carl was definitely feeling a few beers. Brian can be seen rubbing his nose all the time.

The Jardine boys seem to be missing from most of these suggestions... an argument can be made that Matt was as important a session player/singer
as anyone ?

Yeah, what happened to him, anyway? Was it age? He wasn't always bad. Then his timing just went South. I remember some concert-attending fans kept complaining about him but they kept him anyway for quite awhile.

I'm very confused by this post, at first, I can tell you don't like the Love You album (which I dont know how you can't like it and be a big BW fan, but that's a thread for another time)...but then you write:
YES FOR LOVE YOU!
, does that mean you
do
like it?

May I ask where it's even implied that Joe is a Love You hater? As far as I know he loves the album, from talking to him personally.

Maybe you should concentrate all your effort into grading papers. If you messed up reading a Beach Boys message board, I feel bad for the student when you misread his answer.
