Anybody else besides me think that there might be a version of "Heroes & Villains" on this set?

well said Shady.  Nothing here's come DIRECT from EMI/Cap, only from word of mouth or websites which are supposedly based on info supplied by  Cap.

Unless Mikie can direct us to  a Cap/EMI site that has the info we're e titled to take it with a pinch of salt.

My one hope is that David, a respected writer, will verify his own Oct 4 date.

In the meantime Mikie ought to maybe lay off having so much sugar on his breakfast Frosties!  Grin

Okay everyone, lots of frustration being taken out on each other.  Let's all chill and go back a few steps.

October 4 is the date.

Okay, David, who told you this? Where does their authority come from? What led you to take it on faith?  Have you any reason to doubt the date's validity?

Hoping for a return of peace here once we have the facts…

I have a very reasonable idea who told David that date, and they are entirely credible. Also, unlike the rest of us, David has a position to maintain and isn't daft enough to compromise it by cavalierly handing out duff info. But, as he pointed out, any given release schedule can - and will - change.

Actually, it's not - it's from a poster here who said he was told by a friend of his that it was from Capitol: third-hand. Nothing against Sean, but some of my friends have a very questionable SOH.  Wink

That David has supported said date is a stronger indication to me.

Take it with a grain of salt, but a few of the European retailers that had previously listed August release dates are now showing October 3...

What? No way! October 3 is German national holiday, stores don't open that day!

Please note that the aforementioned sites are based in Belgium and the Netherlands, respectively.   I don't believe that those countries have observed German national holidays since 1944-45.  Wink

Smiley Actually, we're all good friends now. Even the football (soccer) enemyship with the Netherlands has cooled off in the last few years. It'll still take a generation or two that Germany's image in the world will not be focused on WWII. In Europe we are on the way to be regarded as "zany", I guess.

Yea Yea. Zany. As in: beer addicts, and watching the Sommermärchen of the Frauenfußball in Public Viewing spots all day long. I know what Germans are like.

Owww, Pleeeeeeeease Dad

No, in all seriousness, my emnity is with Hitler and the Nazis and has never been with the German people, most of whom didn't know what was going on until it was too late. And this is also the nation that produced the greatest composers who ever lived (sorry Blooboarders)

And of course Hitler was Austrian, but so was Mozart, so they cancel each other out. Then the Von-Trapps sort of tip the scales onto the side of goodness, so it's thumbs up for Austria too

Now France on the other hand.....

No only joking...........

France and England are like a squabbling brother and sister, they love each other really  but would never dare admit it

I don't know how credible Sean is, but I trust Dave at Direct Music who says his source is Capitol. That's good enough for me. Plus, backed up by David at ESQ and there you go.

I'm glad John Manning put a little smiley emoticon next to his little joke about me. He's another suspicious bloke here who's got ants in his pants and is chompin' at the bit for this thing to get released. Constant idle chit chat and speculation about nothing.....what's he going to do until October 4? Note the date: OCTOBER 4, 2011!

I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Not my "friend" -- I just emailed Dave Curtis at the Direct Current website, and he was nice enough to respond. Anyone here could have done the same thing and probably would have gotten the same response I did.

You don't have to find ME credible -- I'm not claiming any "inside" knowledge or source. All I did was email Dave via the link provided at the Direct Music site, and he responded to me. I'm pretty sure Mikie did the same thing a few weeks ago. I reproduced his response verbatim -- take it for what it's worth, but even if the date changes again, that doesn't make Dave at DC "wrong" -- he gets projected release dates from Capitol, and he reports them. Nothing more, nothing less. David at ESQ probably has access to the same information, and if someone at Capitol told him October 4th, then THAT person is probably relying on the same information.

All that said, it's very true that "nothing is real" (to quote John Lennon) until Capitol/BRI issues a new press release with the final date. There's really no reason for us to be squabbling over this -- I just thought a couple of morsels of new information would be welcomed.

SSnet is the Black Hole of BBs fandom. We suck up each and every piece of information, and also each and every snippet of music. Nothing can escape us.

October 4th sounds good enough for me, but to accept that date 100% would require Mike Love to knock on my door and announce it via a singing telegram.
