This is my favorite touring version of the BBs since Carl passed and Al left. By a lot. Scott Totten doesn't get enough credit and the additions of Jeff F and Brian Eichenberger have raised the bar considerably for future touring iterations of The Beach Boys or "The Beach Boys" - however you look at it.

In '87, Do It Again would occasionally be in the set. When it made its way in, just before the final verse, there was a cool double falsetto (with the higher of the two voices up in the stratosphere) for a "whoa-oo-oh ohhh" before "well i've been thinkin' bout..." I believe it was Jeff Foskett and Billy Hinsche singing these two parts. Was a fun little tag. I assume it left when Jeff and Billy left. I looked on youtube for an example, but can't find the song from that era... I have it on some audio recordings.

I just rediscovered this show on youtube and was wondering the same thing. Might be some of my favorite youtube clips of Brian and Co. Does anyone have the full show? Clearly it was recorded *somewhere* though I suspect maybe only a portion (which has found its way to youtube) was actually broadcast. I love all of the official BW released Here is one of 6 (which you can find in the Up Next column). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XM8XebyaN8 Is that Scott quietly doubling Brian during the first verse?

Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Back Home (Made in California version)

Can anyone make out the voices singing the backgrounds? In addition to the lead vocal, sounds to me like Brian is singing the high part and maybe all the others? I'm talking about the version of Back Home on the Made In California CD set Disc 1 Track 15 (Not the 1970 Version also on set and not the 15 Big Ones version). SO many versions of this song!
Thanks!

That is really too bad. I saved some of these a while ago, I will see if I can dig them up.
Unsure how many people know the story behind the site, but the man who transcribed all of these wonderful vocal charts, Alan Deane, was tragically struck and killed by a motorist while on his bicycle in Los Angeles a few years ago. I met him once-- I gave him a ride to a bus station while we talked about Beach Boys music. When we got there, we sat in the car for another 30 minutes finishing our conversation.
