Regarding Scott Thornton he did an interview.I forgot if it was on a podcast or it was just a written one where he said he was having vocal issues and that was the real reason behind his leaving the band,j ust couldn't sing and hit the notes consistently anymore.
The fact that there have been a whole lot of cancelations in a row, seems to indicate that the one member of the band who was irreplaceable Mike love, has something wrong with him, whether it be something relatively minor or more serious mike's lowvno energy singing and fragility look much worse over The course of the past few shows this year, the guy is what 84 years old, so it's to be expected. Not sure Brother would pass the Torch down to Christian love and maybe Matt Jardine, but I would prefer they just let it go retire the name and if anything else, let them go out as individuals performing the music of the beach Boys and Brian Wilson just don't call themselves the beach.Boys that would be a fair way to end it

The reviewer was even a bit more kind than some recent reviews I've seen on the internet, as well as some of the performances I've watched on You Tube. I have never liked Christian Loves vocals, they sound bland and boring to me. And to my ears Brian Eichenberger's falsetto vocals have really slipped, he sounds off key to me a lot. He just doesn't blend anymore. And I was never a fan of the new drummer, way too animated for my taste. And as far as Stamos goes, running around the stage with an unplugged guitar, posing like the wanna be rock star he sooooo wants to be, but isn't, well nuf said about him. https://www.msn.com/en-us/music/news/review-good-vibrations-come-and-go-at-beach-boys-spirits-heavy-san-diego-show/ar-AA1KgRst?ocid=BingNewsSerp

All of the posted videos were just wonderful. I never ever thought I would hear the vast majority of those songs live ever again, if at all. Watching the videos, Al's leads are really good, but at 82 you have to believe his full time touring days are probably nearing an end soon. Just watching the videos, it was just awesome of Matt to cover him vocally when needed, and to sort of keep him focused. But even one day when Al does call it quits, this band, fronted by Darrian(whose amazing vocally), Matt(who has been amazing for years now,) and Rob, should consider continuing as a Tribute yo Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys music....they are TREMENDOUS, and have so much to offer.

I love Al, and of course Brian's Band is amazing. I remember Al initially saying that they were going to test the waters with a few dates here and there, like 2 or 3, and see how it progresses. That sort of makes sense to me, because from a ticket sales perspective alone, it might be tough to sell enough tickets to pay the band, stage guys etc.... Especially if they're in really small venues. It's akin to this, here in NJ, we have 3 very nice music venues in Red Bank; The Count Basie Theater which seats north of 2,000, and which Brian and the guys have played a few times over the years and sold lots of tickets near or at sell out, The Vogel next door, which only seats a few hundred and is more of a tables on the floor set up, and the 2 River Theater which only seats a couple of hundred. I'm guessing Al and the guys may go for the Vogel, and that may not pay the bill. But who knows, I now that wherever they are near me, I'll do my best to attend!

I've seen that Mike/Dennis video before, and I'm always taken aback by how nervous and anxious Mike looks, not knowing what Dennis is going to do physically or say for that matter. I've always thought Mike was sitting there thinking " Oh please Dennis, don't go into the history of Gage's mom and say something that is going to be completely embarrassing to me". To Dennis' credit, he didn't go down that path...but I'm sure Mike was thinking he would or could at any moment.

It could just be that Carl's estate(Justyn and Jonah) are just lazy, and content to receive Carl's portion of Beach Boys revenue. I know that may be a stretch, esecially since Jonah by all accounts is a very successful realtor to the stars. But as for Justyn, not quite sure what he does to make a living, if anything, other than collect his share of BB touring dollars and other assets from his dad. Who knows, not being a wise guy here, just saying this might be the reason we see virtually nothing from Carl's estate.

It's ok for what it is, it wasn't designed to be a dig deep documentary. It was well produced and the music sounded great, loved the new interviews too. But it seemed like it rushed the last 1/2 hour or so, from the 60's to the end. Too bad it didn't end in 1980, but just very rushed. But I enjoyed what there was of it.
