Great thread. I'll add a couple of later day Tunes where Carl really shines. Where I belong from Beach Boys 85 possibly the most overlooked greatest Beach Boys song of the latter part of their careers. Carl's vocals are magnificent as are the counter vocals by al. And if we're going to talk Summer in Paradise I would say Carl really shines the most on Lahaina aloha. His vocals carry that tune. What a great singer Carl Wilson was

This doesn't really excite me much. Seeing a bunch of bands, probably current and from yester year, performing classic BB songs. With or without whosever left, this strikes me as a worse effort that the 25th anniverrsary special from Hawaii...which wasn't really that good. We shall see. Maybe they can have that obnoxious guy play Do It Again, and have him strut around the stage with Mike screaming "DO IT"...or have Stamos mug for the cameras "playing" a guitar that isn't even plugged in. Would have been better to just have whose left, with Blondie and Ricky too, play a few classics...just that alone would have been enough IMHO.

Thanks for posting. I thought the orchestra was the best part of the show. The drums were mixed way too loud....completely overpowered the vocals. You could barely hear the guys singing, especially Mike and Bruce. I guess they fixed the sound a bit in the 2cd half, but damage done. Cowsil sounded fine o Darlin, but just not a fan at all of Christian Love. He just sounds so "BLAH" and bland to me. to me the worst part of the show was......Stamos. I know lots of folks love the guy, the fans sure seemed like they do cheering for everything he did. But I find his "I'm a rock star" posturing and posing just plain annoying. Oh well, thanks again for posting.

Tx, I forgot about 1971. Surprising lack of SOS, but oh well. I love Only With You, but don't share your sentiments with regards to Christian Love's voice performing it. I find him to be extremely Bland with very little tone and nothing at all like Carl's voice which is not to say anything because no one seems like carl. It's just his voice seems like nothing to me. Very Bland very boring don't see him singing this song at all

Very much enjoying the Box set. My favorite part is the Carnegie live discs though. They were just such a great live act during this period. If I had to compare the feel flows and sail on Sailor box sets I think of the two I prefer feel flows. Just happens to be that sunflower is my favorite recording of theirs next to pet sounds. But this one is really good too. I'm not sure what they would do for the next box release but I'm thinking it would probably be some sort of a live set. They were such a dynamic touring group live during this time and even mid to late 70s

I always found make it good to be difficult to listen to too many strings too much overpowering of the vocals. I think removing the strings makes this song brilliant. The same to some degree with cuddle up. Though I never had as much trouble listening to cuddle up as I did listening to make it good.

I remember years ago, late 80s when Kokomo hit and gave their career a real shot in the arm, they tried the Club Kokomo restaurant thing. Probably Mike's idea, it flopped quickly and died a quick death. Wonder what will happen with this attempt.
