Cool info.
And of course Abe Laboriel Jr provides post Smile premiere comments in the Beautiful Dreamer DVD. What a guy.
Cool that Probyn was involved. Of course we would have welcomed seeing more of our heroes also performing (Darian, Scott T...). Interesting to ponder the reasons behind the band being what it was. Noting that there might have been political reasoning, I wonder if something close to the 2012 lineup was considered.
Haven't streamed the show yet but reports from others have certainly aroused my interest.

Who remembers the incident during the What Love Can Do era, which also included a remake of God Only Knows, when promotional video of the new God Only Knows was posted, but apparently tampered with in some way to be part original version, part BW remake, and part assistant studio engineer's brother singing a snippet, or something like that? There was plenty of commotion trying to figure out what on earth was going on before the reveal.

God Only Knows "1966 home demo" is pretty good. Does the tag use any of the authentic vocal from the released version? What seltaeb1012002 really should have done, is held off posting anything until April 1, and then on that day introduced the above mentioned "home demo" as a genuine long lost article. It would have been a cruel but interesting experiment and perhaps with a free pass if posting on that day

Wild.
BWPS Heroes & Villains with AI model Brian vocal? Would it sound more like 1967 released H&V or 1966 cantina vocal?
Although I don't feel quite right saying it, whole BWPS album with AI "vintage" vocals is intriguing.
"Vintage" Brian on Summer's Gone?
Dennis on A Day in the Life of a Tree? Or Brian...

Has anyone able to get anything close to a definitive list of unreleased material from the Radio sessions?
Aside from I'd Go Anywhere, I recall mention of a remake of She Believes in Love Again, and didn't Al try to get Waves of Love included? It seems that there was a little bit of crossover between material considered for Radio that was specifically recorded for Radio, and material that was recorded for other projects and subsequently became or almost became part of Radio...Is it fair to say that Daybreak Over The Ocean is as much a part of the Radio sessions, as such, as Waves of Love? Was Don't Fight The Sea ever considered?

Sail on Sailor is certainly a fine enough title, but I would have liked a title that is lifted from the lyrics of a song like Sunshine Tomorrow. The Beach Boys Through Restful Waters The Beach Boys - Unsettled Oceans The Beach Boys - Sunny California The Beach Boys - Another Sunny Day The Beach Boys - Scheming To Rule the Waves The Beach Boys - Dusk Time The Beach Boys - Golden Auras (you hate them all don't you? )

A handful of posters on this board have created more Mike Love apologists in the past few years than probably the previous twenty.
Reverse psychology? Perhaps this was Mike Love's plan all along. Is OSD secretly working for Mike Love? If true, this would be confirmation that there is no depth to which Mike Love will not sink. This was a joke in case it wasn’t obvious. Whilst I acknowledge that these latest interview comments appear distasteful and are unnecessary, I do not feel particularly inclined to engage too deeply with the complex personal dynamic between Mike, Brian and their respective circles. I’m supposed to be seeing “The Beach Boys” next month. I fear that we are reaching the end of the road so looking forward to it.

Alcohol is an addictive product for some people but not everyone. I wonder how addictive it is compared to non-legal drugs; it may kill 80,000 per year compared to 70,000 for heroin, but it is also way more widely consumed.
Alcohol has been normalized by society and is not held to the same standard as other drugs. How much sense that makes in terms of negative impacts to individuals and society I do not know.
But how black and white can we be about the matter? The sugar and fast food industries also sell products that are addictive, can cause disease and ruin lives.

Guitarfool, interesting post as always, but you seem to be talking about Brian Wilson/Mike Love collaborations whereas this post is more about the Wilson/Paley collaborations. Indeed they are from the same time period, but can they be considered one and the same for this discussion's purpose?

It would be interesting to know the rationale behind the stereo mixes selected for particular songs as well as those selected for brand new stereo mixes.
Presumably the 2001 stereo mix of California Girls is considered definitive. A new, new stereo mix of Don't Worry Baby will be interesting since the latest remix is relatively recent and already great. Wow didn't realize it goes back as far as 2009. Similar with Do It Again.
I will be very interested to see what they do with Wild Honey and Darlin because I did very much enjoy their first stereo mixes, however they stayed quite true to the general aesthetic of their original mono version in my opinion, perhaps they can be pushed further toward a pre-1967/"big" studio sound. That said, why stick with the 2017 version of Let The Wind Blow (could have even reverted to the first one that appears on the Hawthorne comp).
Looking forward to seeing hearing a new mix of Baby Blue, which is already great...from a similar-ish era, I'd actually be very curious to see what they could do with a remix of Goin On.
All This Is That is left alone, whilst others from that album are not.
Interesting that the 21st century stereo mix of Time To Get Alone has never appeared since its original release, as far as I can recall.
