I had an idea at work earlier tonight that I thought was great, but it might be lame to some ( Wink), with Brian doing all these covers (that he enjoys) of Gershwin and Disney classics, why not make it a trilogy of cover albums? He's always been saying that he's wanted to record a rock and roll album, why not go out on that? Maybe a double album of covers/standards and of originals (original concept of 15 Big Ones  Grin)
With this, he can cover songs he's loved over the years and perhaps re-record a couple BB/BW songs that he thought should rock more like Marcella (I'd love an official live or studio recording him and his band doing it) or songs that are rockers that have yet to release.  Wink He could do it as an album or just tour the rock and roll songs.

My proposed rock cover/songs that he should record go in no particular order:
Circle Sky (Monkees)
Ruby Baby
You're Break My Heart (Harry Nilsson)
Proud Mary
My Obsession (Rolling Stones, he's said over the years that his fav RS song and he was at that session)
Maybe I'm Amazed or Jet (Paul McCartney)
River Deep Mountain High (he could record such a good track and vocals for this and it's SPECTOR!!)
What is Life or Awaiting on You All (George Harrison and it has that great Spector Wall of Sound Brian can toy with)
I'm Down (Beatles)
I've Just Seen a Face (U.S. Rubber Soul reference)
Back in the USSR (with Mike's permission  Grin)
I've Got a Feeling, Got to Get into My Life, O-Bla-Di, O-Bla-Da, When I'm 64, Taxman, Paperback Writer (Beatles)
Save the Last Dance for Me (Brian could do the Spector version and/or traditional)
You've Lost that Lovin' Feelin'
Just Once in my Life (it's possible he's not pleased with that version, but I could be wrong)
Sir Duke (Wonder)
Come to the Sunshine (finally release a version of Brian's)
Great Gig in the Sky (Pink Floyd, think of what he could do vocally with the whole band)
Turn to Stone or Mr. Blue Sky or Rockaria (ELO)

Then the proposed 'finally release songs that could be real rockers section'
Hotter
Chain Reaction of Love
I'm Broke
Lines (kinda like the version on Caroline Now!)
Rollin' Up to Heaven
Water Builds Up
Everybody Wants to Live
Some Sweet Day
Frankie Avalon
Do you Have any Regrets?
Elbow 63
It's Trying to Say
Someone to Love
God Did it
Sweetie
The Boogie's Back in town

You're Break My Heart (Harry Nilsson)

"You're Breakin' My Heart"? There are some words in there that Brian's management won't let pass. Apart from that I think this third cover album would be a great idea!

"Drip Drop" in BW's original version should open the album!
